Honestly, I don't do it myself. The devs did say it is fair game though, so you won't hear any complaints from me.

When the Devs themselves stop doing it, then you should be concerned.

I don't do it out of the spirit of the game. (And the fact I always seem to fail just outside the LZ when I try.) I don't enjoy others doing it but I'm not going to protest either.

why does everyone treat Devs as gods?
What is happenning here? If they one day say that missile glitch is ok, will you agree???

Is completley bs that many bugs are being treated as "new functions" "new features" or "clever use of game mechanics". After they say that... it seems that everyone agrees on it ¬¬.

it is bug, no matter how they call it, and users are exploiting it.

PS3 here, and I do it all the time, not as smoothly as the PC master race though.
When I mess up the rhythm my teammates pick it up immediatly and start walking slowly toward the LZ, refusing to "give it back" to me, despite my efforts on the mic. Maybe they think I'm a cheater?

I would go more along the lines of not wanting to waste more time with another posible screw up and wanting the points themselves. I usually end up screw up a bit before the finish >_< I usually just reserve the running for long straight runs to speed up the game and when I dont got team back up and a bunch of heavies on my tail.

I don't remember saying I agree with them. The devs dictate the rules, and I'll abide by their words. Doesn't mean I like it.

I don't know, in that situation I'd drop the package, get behind cover, take out the goombas or lead them away then recover it. YES IT TAKES LONGER, but I don't get everyone's damn hurry. There are time bonuses but hey, if the group worked as a team rather than everyone being lone wolf, master score getter, the mule could keep on walking while the others handled the heavies.

It has been agreed by the powers that be, "running" is not an exploit or cheat, so until they fix it, ppl will do it.
The main problem I find is that you have three ppl clustered around the package all trying and failing to speed run and in a lot of cases dying. If u cant do it consistently, don't bother at all.  Pls don't come into a PUG game and use it as practice, do that Solo or with friends.

I wouldnt mind but they die and then expect u to keep reviving them, fight the enemies off and carry the package in the normal way. So frustrating at times.

OP, do you object to a Krogan doing a light melee while carrying the pizza?

If you do, you are consistent in your objections, because both are "clever use of game mechanics" and not exploits or cheats.

If you don't object to Krogan light melee when carrying the pizza, then your real objections are either speed differential or the fact that anyone can light melee their Krogan, while not everyone has mastered the art of "dribbling" the pizza.

Wanking about speed differential seems a bit silly. Wanking about not being able to do it yourself seems a bit ... envious.

BW has said that this practice is "legal", same as reload cancel. I have not practiced enough to be able to run, but those who have do not bother me at all. If it is not in the spirit of the game, then reload cancel (100% the same issue) would also not be in in the spirit of the game. I constantly reload cancel, and it appears the game requires this for a huge chunk of the weapons...BW even seems to have evolved balance with this in mind.

Don't really have an opinion on the Krogan one...firstly because that's not the topic at hand and secondly I have as of posting this not yet played a Krogan and am unaware of this mechanical exploit and can therefore have no leg to stand on opinion wise on that subject. In that case could we leave that to one side?

On the wanking thing...urrrm...k...odd use of the word frankly. Anywho, let me state that I haven't tried to 'dribble the pizza'. I have an issue with doing it, why would I then try to do it? My issue indeed isn't that ITS FASTER. I'm not a tortoise or a VHS machine trapped on slo mo that's achieved self awareness and asked a scientist to glue arms to me but can't comprehend anything at speed. My issue is that the whole point of the scenario is that the carrier CAN'T RUN. Its like playing statues when the person who's 'it' has a makeup mirror to look over their shoulder. They aren't turning round to catch people out, sure, its legit in that sense, but on the other hand, whats the point? The situation is supposed to encourage your team to defend the team-mate, thus the big sign saying DEFEND over the player who picks it up. Just think it kills it stone dead.

I don't call out players who do it I just sigh to myself when I see it like the Old Man River I apparently am.

Working as intended.
Not dishonourable, the quicker things get done, the better.

Well let's just say, I normally play under 0.4+ seconds of lag, with regular lag spikes and rubber banding, to Australia/New Zealand.

If I can manage to run a package under those conditions, I don't feel dishonorable at all.

Also Bryan Johnson does it so direct your outrage at him.

True stories, all :o

I'm pretty sure it wasn't intended but it got deemed "clever use of mechanics".

I'm also pretty sure most people aren't going to care about being honourable against the AI.

Most people don't even care about being honourable against players.

I can't do it, so walk it the old fashioned way. If other people can do it well I'm happy for them to do it.

It annoys me no end when people who can't do it try it on Gold, keep effin it up and the delivery ends up taking longer than it would if walked, especially if another player has Adrenaline Module III on.

If I'm doing escort I'll just grab it if they keep effin it up.

Gold is not the place to learn how to do such tricks.

Thats a terrible comparison.

Reload cancelling still requires you to reload the gun, you just stop the extra ass end part of the animation. You aren't negating the need to reload. You aren't compelety making up for a guns crappy reload time in relation to quick reloading weapons. You're just being effecient.

Pizza running simply throws the entire point of the objective out the window. What if I found a way to step into the escort drone circle then stepout but make it continue as if i was still there, what if I could do that with hack circles?

Would that be fair?

People have been doing this in games for as long as there have been "retrieve item x" objectives. Personally, I don't like it, and support the decision that Halo's developers eventually made to fix it, where the reduced speed associated with carrying the objective item persist for a second or so after dropping the item (although, it did take the companies behind Halo the better part of a decade to realize this, so I'm not counting on Bioware getting the message anytime soon).
