I can't do it, so walk it the old fashioned way. If other people can do it well I'm happy for them to do it.

It annoys me no end when people who can't do it try it on Gold, keep effin it up and the delivery ends up taking longer than it would if walked, especially if another player has Adrenaline Module III on.

If I'm doing escort I'll just grab it if they keep effin it up.

Gold is not the place to learn how to do such tricks.

+1.   Practice in Solo matches or with u r friends.   I played a Silver and two of the player's shouldn't  have been at that lvl anyway.  And when they did the run, they weren't good at that either, kept dropping it and both died.  Me and the other player were trying to kite enemies away from them but then had to complete the walk with little time to spare, then solo rest of the wave.  It was v nearly a wipe.  P***ing around like this isn't in the spirit of the game and certainly wont get u any friends in higher levels.

OP, I think the Krogan light melee is very much on topic. Both are use of game mechanics, both speed pizza delivery. The Krogan light melee is fast, dribbling the pizza is faster. The Krogan light melee is easy to do. Very, very easy to do. The pizza dribble takes some practice to do well, is tougher to do on consoles, so not everyone is going to master the skills. So ... an easy but slower version of speeding is available to everyone rocking a Krogan. A more difficult but faster version of speeding is available to everyone, but practice is required.

How about the speed bonus available to the Fury or Valkyrie with AF, or Shadow with her sword mastery passive? That makes carrying the pizza much faster, almost as fast as the Krogan light melee. Or the Vorcha light melee? Or the Batarian's speed? Or the Drell, especially if you are rocking an adrenaline amp? Or the flip side, someone wanting to carry the pizza as the Destroyer, with his devastator mode engaged, that is the absolute slowest critter in the game.

ALL of these are game mechanics. Part of the challenge of the game is learning not just the stated mechanics, but the unstated mechanics. I don't think running with the pizza was anticipated by the devs, but it is integral to game mechanics and is not considered cheating by BioWare (BroJo uses it when carrying the pizza or so I'm told).

Lots of ways to speed pizza delivery, you seem to object to this one or simply aware of only this one. Yet some of the other options to speed delivery do the same thing you object to ... make the player go fast enough to not really need an escort.

I'm not trying to hate on you OP, not my intent at all. But it sounds like you might not be aware of some of the other ways to speed (or slow) delivery. Now that I've mentioned some of them, take a step back, think about it. Does it change your view on dribbling the pizza?

Nope.

Many ways to skin a cat...doesn't make cat skinning any more palatable to me.

But I'm a stickler for how a game was intended to be played. When I play Rugby I can't stand guys who pinch, and purposefully leg scrape when in a scrum. The whole point is combined teamwork, driving the other side back.

In MP I feel happier with a team that died together gracefully than a team that won seperatelly or by exploiting game mechanics. Just the old-school mindset I have. Should hear my TF2 rants. I'm usually top 2 every match on that and still find time to complain!

it is bug, no matter how they call it, and users are exploiting it.

Both the sprinting by mashing space bar and the pizza picking up from a distance are two mechanics which are working as intended, which can be utilised in tandem to make the pizza delivery faster; there is no "bug" as everything making the pizza running possible was coded specifically by biower... they were probably just unaware of the fact that this was possible. Or they were aware of the fact, and judged it clever use of game mechanics (similar to other hidden mechanics like right-hand advantage).
Also, I'll run with as many pizzas as I damn well like. U mad? :wizard:

Probably an ancient topic but...*shrug*

Recently I've seen more and more occurences of object running. Normally when you get an object you have to walk it back to your LZ. This makes you an easy target and means your team should step up and defend you. Slowly but surely making your way back is a great exercise in tension and teamwork. Yet lately I've noticed players appearing to spam the spacebar key (or through some other method) to run across the map with the item jumping on and off their backs. I think this is absolutely outrageous and though probably doesn't break the rules of the game, certainly is against the spirit of it. The privelidge of carrying the object over should be balanced by the hazard it entails.

That and the noise is irritating...

Thoughts?

Looks at OP's Signature

Noise = faster credits for that objective

So deal with it

Whining about somethig that most other people do including the Devs won't stop it so...:wizard:

Kind of like reload canceling? Also, one has to be careful when doing this as the object could fall through the map. I've seen this on Hydra (360) and the leader had to depart the lobby to restart the wave.

I'm not a huge fan, but I do it myself on big maps, like Rio, or when I feel the objective is going south.

This isn't the point at all. Krogan light melee, class passives, and adrenaline mods are something the CHARACTER  posesses to speed up movement or carry heavy objects. Dropping a supposedly heavy object, having to pick it up and somehow maintain running at speed doesn't make sense.

Krogans are supposed stronger than humans so they figure out a motion (Not dropping the pizza) to walk faster. Drell and N7 Shadows are faster than normal humans. Dropping an object generally should not allow you to transport it more quickly.

I think your weapons weight capacity should help determine how much the pizza slows you down and that the developers should fix this glitch.

Until they fix the glitch or start calling it cheating I'm fine with people doing it. I don't approve of it and I won't do it, but to each their own.

I don't grab it with slow characters, but I've only bothered to do the delivery speedy a few times.

I only saw this about two weeks ago for the first time then a couple times since, I find it so amusing to see lol Its probably the dropping/picking up sound going off like an alarm clock which amuses me

"a clever use of game mechanics", and I agree with it. If you can pull it off, than go all for it. In some cases tough, it's hard to pull off when you're not hosting, so it is a bit of a risk. A double edged sword, but I really like the "feel" of object running, even when I'm not on host and I'm losing it, I just can't do it normaly anymore.

The Flamer+Reeger trick was just as clever yet still deemed a glitch.  Calling this clever is simply Bioware opting not to fix their broken mechanic.  Besides, clever would be using the Asari's backwards dodge to drop the package and pick it back up; sprinting with the package is simply a flaw in the control scheme.  Clever also implies intended, and this is anything but a promoted technique.

It's technically cheating, so I'm against it.  Defeats the purpose of even having that objective.

Definitely not "dishonorable". I suspect that on the higher difficulties like Platinum it actually makes the object retrieval survivable.

Yeah, as the delivery objective was the most recent objective added, if Bioware intended for the community to trivialize it by sprinting then why not allow the other objectives to be similarly balanced?  That is the point of the almost weekly balance changes that have been ongoing for almost a year, right?  In the end, this issue is just another embarrassment for Bioware who is trying its best to 'cleverly' conceal their mistake and/or lack of testing.

They say it's clever use of game mechanics, although since almost everyone seems to do it now I think the cleverness has worn off.

Still, it makes pizza objectives a lot easier. Can be a pain to do if you have any lag though.

It's technically not cheating. If you could solidly run with it and not drop it then that could be called cheating It doesn't give the receiving player any extra points or anything like that all it does is give the whole team more credits. Are you saying that it's not ok to help your team to get the most credits as possible? The devs have approved of it and do it.

I think it comes in handy on gold and platinum the most and great practice on bronze and silver. I think the hardest learning curve to it is the characters running speed. I'll admit that I do it and am pround doing it because it takes a while to get used to it and you're helping the entire team. I can get your pizzia delivered in 30 seconds or less. I'll stop if the devs say so until then I'll keep doing and get the most credits out of it as I can.

Anything that can't be fixed, won't be fixed, not properly QA'd is no longer an exploit, glitch or bug. Once BioWare claims it a feature, working as intended or clever use of game mechanics it simply moves from the cheater column to the legit column. Once in the legit column, good luck finding anyone that won't point to it as playing MP kits to their maximum efficiency.

This phenomena has caused me to play tic-tac-toe in pencil.

I mostly do it when playing Asari.
The bad thing though is that the Destroyers always seem to be the closest ones to the packages.
