How do I link my account here with my gamertag? I don't understand how I go about doing that? Do I have to change my user name here? How would I do that?
Should I just delete this account and reregister with a User name that would have the same name as my gamer tag?
And not to sound lame, cuz I don't use my Xbox live much, but I put a gamer tag on a long time ago I think, how would I know what it is? Or how can I make one if I don't have it?
Linking my gamer tag...

You have to login to your ea-masteraccount. its the same email you have used after you started up dao in its login screen (for example: a@b.com). With this email you log in into your ea-masteraccount ( if it doesnt exist, simply create one with this email adress). After done so, add a persona on your masteraccount (thats done again in the ea-masteraccount). Type in the Gamertag you want to use and which does exist on Xbox Live and is yours. After entering it, choose it as your standard persona and everything should be fine. You can then login to here with your master-account email adress and it should work the next time.
At least thats the way I went to link gamertag to my ea-masteraccount. If you cant remember your used DAO-login email I dont know how to link a gamertag because there is no option to get into this login screen again (except by creating a completely new gamertag again). Hope it helps.

Yeah that still doesn't work for me. Something somewhere in that chain of Live>EA>Bioware must not be right but dear god I've checked everything because that one extra click drives me nust everytime I fire the game up.

I'm having the same sort of problem....I get this in a red box; "Sorry, that Xbox LIVE Gamertag has already been taken. Please try another one."
I know it's been taken, it's mine.

Well I think if I link my gamertag that maybe My character stuff will appear. I'm getting all my character kills and what not and progress...but no pics, so I'm hoping that fiddling with this will resolve my issue
Ty for all the help I will try it

It is simply rediculous that you cannot get to the account creation screen once you enter the wrong email. What a disaster this game is. Utter cluster****.

honestly i am so unimpressed by the way EA does things, this is ridiculous. The game I have been waiting for finally comes, I buy the collectors edition and I`ve already activated the code on the bioware site but I can`t link my gamertag. I am getting the red box that says `this gamertag has already been taken`no ****, its MY gamertag. Now I`m cheated out of day 1 DLC even though I paid for this on the first day. Just another reason for me to hate EA.

I 100% agree with all of you, i work for a major retailer and i cant believe the amount of trouble EA puts its customers thru. I get the exact same issue and I cannot figure out how the hell its taken when its mine and i do not have any other EA accounts. The EA forums for this issue is 15 pages long. They shouldve stuck with downloadable codes like everyone else. The Evil Empire wins again.

Ok... Hey everyone! I "THINK" I know what your problem is, if you did the same thing as me, and are getting the same message.
MAKE SURE TO READ THE END OF THIS BECAUSE i HAVE SOME WARNINGS!!!!!!!
Ok this is what I noticed, I registered my info when the game first started up. It automaticaly asks you to. So thats why it was saying my Gamer Tag was already in use.
To check and make sure my gamer tag was registered I............
1. went to the Bioware site. (http://social.biowar...m/user_home.php)
2. Went to my account.
3. Put the mouse over the "Profile" Tab.
4. Waited and a few opition pop out from that tab.
5.CLICK on "Redeem promo code" (http://social.biowar...redeem_code.php)
6. Now a new page will come up.
7. Look above where it says "Promo Code" and there is a white box to the right where you can put in your code for the armor and and weapon.
8. you should see additional info (like your XBOX gamer tag and your PSN name).
9. If your Gamertag is there, it should be safe to enter your Redeem code/ Promo Code.
10. If you don't see your info, I don't know what your problem is, maybe you still need to register and make an EA account or something.
HERE ARE THE WARNINGS I HAVE TO HELP YOU ALL NOT SCREW YOURSELF OVER!!!!!!!!
1.Make sure you use the same E-mail for for all the accounts you register. esp. for the xbox gamertag and or PSN name.
2. Make sure you enter all your info correctly!!!!!! OMG I have had to deal with this stuff over the phone, I swear to god its not worth it!!!! Just take 10 mins longer to double check your info. Safe yourself 4 hours!! trust me please.
I hope this helps.....
PS.... I guess I kind of owe an apology to EA/BioWare, because I got everything working just fine.
But I do have to say it took me about 3 hours to get everything working >.>
You guys should make this simpler'...

Check and see if your gamertag/ PSN name is linked the way I suggested above. If not then link it. It might still work after you link it.
Make sure all your info is connected and correct.
If you see your PSN name or xbox gamer tag, then you should be able to get the content.

I have tried all the above techniques, and so I have resorted to e-mail EA support for help. It pisses me off that I bought to CE of Mass Effect 2 and I cant get my armor or gun. But whats weird is that my Dragon Armor shows up from my DAO download. It makes no sense. This just seems like a lot of extra work for a stupid system.

This is a wasteful and haphazard piece of garbage system. EA, why not go the route of every other promo and DLC code on the 360 and just use the dashboard/MS point code system?
I created this bioware account (FOLLOWING THE INSTRUCTIONS ON THE GODDAM CARD PERFECTLY, including using the same e-mail address that my gamertag is registered under) and it doesn't work.
I think back when Bad Company came out I had my "linked persona" placed under some other obscure name that I made up, but that was 2 years ago! Now I am out a chunk of the CE that I paid for because I didn't remember that I had some stupid persona already linked (and this because I had to do a triple backflip just to receive a gun in THAT game too). Well EA, I'm not the only one who will never buy a CE EA game (except, grudgingly, the next Mass Effect). Good work f*c*ing so many people over.

So now that I know what I did wrong, I guess I'm simply SOL on that **** that I paid extra for? Or is there some way to recover my lost armor even though I've already entered the codes?
