I would like to buy the Logitech Surround Sound Speakers Z506 for My Vizio 37" TV and My PS3.

How do I get true 5.1 surround sound for my TV/PS3? I have been searching all over the Internet to figure this out before buying and it all so complicated from what I have been reading. I can connect the RCA cables from the PS3 to the Speakers' Subwoofer, but I heard that you'll only recieve the 2 Channel sound (Right And Left Only). I want true surround but I do not know how. It can't be this complicated. I need help with this.

Bought the wrong speakers, Mass Effect fanboi.

The Z506 doesn't come with a digital decoder. I think it's designed to be a cheap 5.1 system for PC since it only comes with 3.5mm analog jacks for surround sound input.

The only way to get surround sound from that POS is by getting a digital to analog decoder like one of these and using the optical output on the PS3. If I were you I'd just return the damm thing and get a Z906.

I got a nice Polk 5.1 surround sound system but I never liked it because it causes voices (in videos) to be difficult to hear. I ended up switching back to just using stereo with a subwoofer. Maybe it's 'cause I'm an old fart...?

I think I'll just get a good Sound Bar with a Subwoofer.
