Sure, the world might not be the same as it is today if the rebels had won, but it possibly couldn't be as bad as it is now. Slavery would have been abolished long before that's for sure.
Very wrong actually as there was already plenty of slavery before Rome and it continued long after the West Roman Empire fell.
The world with a Rome falling there and then would have been a lot worse then it is today, accounting for all the variables is impossible but Rome built a civilization, it built roads, schools, hospitals, libraries and so on, it recorded a great deal of ancient history and if it had fallen then much of that would have been lost as it was during the actual historical fall of Rome, except that in reality there was Byzantium to preserve the knowledge and then later on the Arabs with their Golden Age.
It's simply seems shortsighted to me to think that Rome falling there would have been a good thing, it was bad enough as it was when it fell centuries later.
EDIT: Slavery still exists in the world today despite the "official" ban.
