I have Neverwinter Nights 2 with Mask Of Betrayer and Storm of Zehir legitimate copies. I am wishing to instal these from the official cds. The problem is that on the computer that I am wishing to install on, I have no internet connection. However, I do have a connection that I can use with my laptop somewhere else.

My question is this: Can I download the patch files off the internet, and then install them manually on the computer that has no internet connection? If so, what files should i get and where can I get them?

Also, what other files should I downloaded that are not necessarily official files that should be part of the Neverwinter Nights 2 game?

Thanks

Install NWN2, start game and play for a few minutes. Quit. Install MotB, start game and play for a few minutes. Quit. Install Soz, start game and play for a few minutes. At this point you'll be up to patch 1.21 or so (if I remember correctly) just from doing that. If I remember the suggested process correctly.

You can get the patches for manual download from here.

And someone even made a manual patcher.

( i *heard* a *rumor* that you can just put the patches in the NwN2 directory and run the Updater, when offline, and it'll find them. Else use TnT's updater )

I have installed and played the OC, MotB and Soz. Now I need to get the files and update the game manually. Where can I find the current version of NWN2 so that I can determine the patch file(s) that I need?

You forgot to mention backing up the MotB sound file before installing SoZ.

I've always used the manual patcher, and haven't had any problems with it. By keeping the patch files stored away on a USB stick, it means I can quickly reinstall the games up to 1.23 any time I get a new computer.

May I ask why to 'back up the MotB sound file before installing SoZ'

vo_x1.zip ( voice files for MotB )

It gets deleted (*cough*) when installing SoZ.

It also gets fixed if you just do the patching, it has to download it again though so if you keep a copy of it, and drop it back in after installing SOZ, it prevents quite a few megs in patching. If you don't, you get the same result. I would only focus on it if you don't have unlimited broadband, or a poor connection, or just like to have an "optimum" install process.

( And if you do have a poor connection, i would just download everything once and store it on a USB stick, ideally borrowing a better connection, including this file, eventually you might forget to fix it a long time from now when doing a reinstall, and it's good just to have it around. )

Just for the record - as of June 26, 2013 - nwvault.ign.com is gone. There is no way to get patches. I needed to reinstall my game and then put the patches back - the games been on my computer for years - but the vault is gone. Any one have any ideas what we do now? Some people still play the game - but I guess we're now S.O.L.! Typical!!

As I recently learned, the patches are available here.

No we have been working on it, both http://neverwintervault.org/patches and the Never Launcher are integrated.

Every thing is archived, am working on getting the data on the vault or the archive migrated to the API ( could use some help with processing/downloading the file data before we have no chance of accessing what is left of the vault, you can contact me via friending me, or via #nwn2cr if you can lend a hand. )

Patience while we work on getting all of it back to where it's usable again. More discussion is over at the NWN1 side of these forums.

Thank you to both of you, Tchos and painofdungeonetenal! I'll be able to reload my NW2 and patch it.

It's good to hear that every thing is being archived - I'd volunteer to help you actually, but I've no clue about this kind of stuff - I can't even figure out how to silence my cell phone! Techno-impared!

Thanks again!!
