So, I recently started playing Dragon Age Origins with the Awakening DLC and I noticed my character's staff has stopped firing the normal projectiles. I don't have any problems with casting spells or anything, but in between each spell, I am expecting my character to auto attack, but when he does, nothing comes out of the staff. It's just a repetitive motion of the attack without the projectile.
This is having a terrible effect on my gameplay and I ask that someone please answer me soon.

This sounds like a mod problem. The only time I've had this problem was when I had two different versions of PRJ_base.GDA in my addins folder (my own mod as well as that of another modder).
Renaming my own PRJ_base.GDA fixed the problem (and still both mods work flawlessly, by the way).
Try a search in your (...)\\documents\\bioware\\dragon age folder to see if you have more than one instance of PRJ_base.GDA in your addins and override folders, or if you have a modded version that's called PRJ_base.GDA. If so, chances are it/they will override the standard one.
