Priority: Earth.

I retract this statement that I made.

The mission about saving the Elcor is the biggest joke in the entire series mission-wise.

Does that even count as a mission? Image IPB

I thought so when I accepted it. Turned out I already had the Elcor in my pocket at the time... Image IPB

Not sure if Priority: Earth is the overall worst mission of the trilogy, but it is definitely the one I remember being the most underwhelmed by.

Priority Earth.

The entire freaking thing.
I mean its the FINALE and you give us ....that.

A generic cover shooting spree on a generic grey earth city...wow.
Basically its an example of everything wrong with ME3.

Nothing you do matters, nothing you DID matters, low production values, bland, and utterly pathetic.

Either suicide mission or the Cerberus attack on the citadel for me.

The SM just didn't deliver IMO. There was nothing suicidal about it which ruined it for me and I never understood exactly why Cerberus attacked the Citadel or how they even managed it.

I like Mass Effect 1 a lot but going to that 1 freighter, the above ground base, the underground base and the mine for most of the side missions does get kind of old after that first playthrough.

Priority earth wasn't so bad, it was just that I think they cut out citidel part three. I thought after going up the beam, it would be reminiscent of ME1 after going into the beam on Ilos because Priority Earth seemed to fill the same closures as Ilos did. The main difference being just Shepard and Anderson fighting to the control room from the bottom of the tower with no other squadmates like Vancouver. We could even receive tidbits of information on lore and the battle outside via radio. And when we reach the council hall, we get the Illusive Man dialogue just like Saren with possibly with it on fire like in ME1 but there is no boss battle afterwards.

Three pages in and NO ONE mentions Pinnacle Station? FAR AND AWAY the worst mission of the entire series. There's also insult in the fact that you had to pay for it.

However if you’re one of those people who wanted to get all the achievements in ME1, then the station is awesome for getting the power ones. I was down to only needing a couple more power achievements with my Engineer and Adept and finished them both in it. So it has its purposes. One thing I would of found amusing in it would have been a renegade Shep could of refused any of the Turians weapons with some sarcastic comment.

Worse missions…hmmm
ME1 I hate the missions for the Geth info for Tali. It is so drawn out on so many planets and most of it is boring generic fighting in the Mako. I also don’t like the ones for the listening posts either. A lot of the mini ones on the citadel annoy me too. Mostly because of the fact Shep just interrupts people and butts in (Michael and Rebekka about her unborn baby). If someone did that to me, especially about a child I was carrying, I’d of decked them. It is one thing I HATE they carried over in the 3rd one too.

ME2 many of the N7 missions are just stupid. The bot escort, ship that is falling apart ( I friggin HATE when it moves and Shep shakes and waits until s/he can start moving again.
While on a whole I do like ME2’s final mission (am still trying to get through it on Insanity) I hate how easy it is to get everyone to live. My 1st play through ever, I lost Jack only because she wasn’t loyal in the fight between her and Miranda. I really didn’t know how important it was to have a character with 100% paragon or renegade. But after that? Yeah way to easy. In fact it has become annoying as heck with trying to kill off some team mates. I decided I wanted to do and import with some of the team lost to see how things would be different in the 3rd game. I can even count how many friggin play through I did trying to get some people killed. Especially killing Miranda. She wasn’t loyal and still kept living until finally taking her with me at the very end against the terminator she finally died. I know a few people who have told me they hate how hard it is get the achievement for your entire team lives, really? I dunno, but I sure in the heck have a hard time killing people off.

ME3…wow..a lot.
First, on a whole I love ME3. I have played it through 6 or 7 times now ( I hate having a psychological disorder about finishing anything I start, which is a pain with playing video games) but once the EC ending came out, even with the big holes left, I do like it, but there are some serious missions that still are annoying.
Aria’s gang one is pretty high on the list. I think a Renegade Shep should have been able to deck Darner Vosque and say something like “my reasons are mind jerk, but remember who your speaking too or my gun might forget you could be needed someday”. I don’t mind doing the so called mission, but my renegade Shep should have been able to do a renegade interrupt and smacked him. Heh, just thinking about it, going back to gloat to Sedaris about her not getting out thanks to Shep would have been nice too.
I think my biggest irk in the hub missions in ME3 are the ones that start out with cut scene’s, like the Elcor, and then there is no mission follow up, just scanning. If they could take the time to stop the game insert a cut scene then why couldn’t they take the time to make it a mission???
Luckily I hadn’t touched multiplayer before the N7 missions, so the map part didn’t play into it. But the mission where you have to baby talk and assure the lady to give you the locations of the hubs to disable irks me. But all in all, I think the N7 missions are almost as annoying as the hub missions.
As far as the end and returning to Earth? I don’t hate it and for the most part like it (other then the part when your locked into the parking garage with all the Brutes was tricky for me on Hardcore). However, I wish they had done something like with the suicide mission in ME2 where you had to assign others to other teams and depending on who you chose the team could of died. That much would of changed the whole ending mission into a better mission alone. Even better would have been a Dragon Age moment where you flipped to your other team and had to play the team leader and defend a spot for Shep to come through or something. That would of turned it into a epic moment for me. Also, seeing Shep encountering the Elcor fighting, Asari and so forth as your passed through would have been amazing as well. Although I did like seeing Primarch Victus waiting where Garrus was to talk to, was kind of a nice add in for your other allies added and of course Wrex too, although it would have been nice for a cut scene talk with him.

I know this is kind of off topic (and probably WAY to long) on what missions I like or not as I added in some stuff on how it could have been better, especially with the final mission on Earth and all. So forgive me on that as I am not trying to insert a why I hate or love the ending. Just more saying why I felt the mission sucked for me and whatnot.

Priority Earth due to my expectations.

But objectively? The Luna base. That was the worst side-quest I have ever had the trouble of playing. And what was the main objective? Oh, that's right! Shoot six freaking computers in a boring-ass level... TWELVE TIMES!

It was a pain to go through, so I just did that in casual.

THREE IDENTICAL BASES, all with the SAME enemies and a terrible

This.

A lot of people are nominating Priority:Earth but its not even close to being the worst mission of the series, despite its flaws. Its getting nominated solely out of anger over the ending controversy.

The gameplay portions of Luna base were repetitive and tedious. The only redeeming factor is the scenery when you are driving about in the Mako.

Well you mentioned that driving portion yourself.

No matter how you think of it, most of the ME1 side missions were rather repeatitive. Same building, same cave, only variation I can think is where you help other soldiers against the Rachni. However we wen't trought them, some find redeeming quality from colour palettes and effects, perhaps even sudden Thresher maw encounter on planets, some liked to try different kind of stragies, because Mako gave your a lot of options to position your squad and some went just shooting, or for some it was perhaps just feeling of exploration. I don't think anybody was expecting anything really mind blowing from them. That said, there were unexpected twists on some of those missions.

What comes to final main mission of ME3, we had downer Thessia (which I liked except for Kai Leng) but it ends how it ends, then very dark Horizon mission, which again got some cool ideas and then Cerberus station mission, which turns out to be almost emptry after promising opening, in the end we get rid of Kai Leng which is hardly climatic experience, for many of us, we weren't fighting any sort of great antagonist, but getting rid of irritating game play element. Yeah, there were sure lot of pressure build in game towards Priority: Earth.

It says a lot about how awful the post-beam sequence is that Priority: Earth is comfortably my least favourite mission in the series, because up until the beam it's a fantastic mission. Because of the ending it actually makes me feel genuinely sad when I start it.

My my ... it seems I am a total oddball.

I actually liked Pinnacle Station. I agree the DLC is monotonous as hell from a design perspective, but I still had lots of fun with it.

And I frickin' LOVED Aherns comments!

Ignoring fetch quests as being completely pointless then the one in the OP if you simply take them in isolation and Priority: Earth if you take it in context. If it had just been another mid-game mission Priority: Earth would simply be forgettable.

I never play this mission and I'm so glad that they make it so that your Shepard was never involved with it if you do not play it.

I'm a bit undedided.

get the Reaper IFF was a very dull mission, even though the goal and the setting itself was good, the endless husk waves were boring.

2nd one on my list would be priority Earth in so far as the amount of mindless shooting was insane

edit: I only considered main missions, though some of the side missions were pretty bad, too.

Not counting optional side missions because we'd be here all day if I had to include them.

ME1: Noveria. Boring, drab, time-wasting, repetition. I have absolutely no idea what people see in this one.

ME2: Dossier: The Justicar. Run around a warehouse, shoot some mercs. That got boring 12 missions ago, but this one didn't even try to shake things up and just dragged things out with it's half-baked murder mystery plot.

ME3: The second Leviathan mission. It tried way too hard to be chaotic and tense and just ended up being tedious. It doesn't help that you can't do that sort of run-aroundy leaping climbing stuff with Mass Effect 3 since Shepard can only sprint in a straight line. Also, they kept leaving weapon mods scattered around the place so I had to keep stopping the epic chase scene to look for Ultralight Pistol mods.

Points back to the above for being just about the only mission where characters actually use the weapons they were equipped with as opposed to the Avenger/Predator combo.
