And the random husk filled cavern in ME2. I forget the mission's name, but I just hate that one!

EpicBoot2daFace, I think we are two threads from the same ME2-loving cloth.

That bit after the IFF gets installed into the Normandy in ME2 was good that it was the only time you played someone other than Shepard, but kind of happened spontaneously. Why was Shepard leaving the Normandy anyway?
Also, Citadel: The Return due to the lack of a Harbinger boss battle. Priority: Earth was okay but not as the suicide mission.

When ME1 is held up as the best game in the series, people are overlooking all those bad side missions. The only good missions in the game were the main ones. ME2's side missions were better designed and acually featured unique locations.
tbh even as ill developed as they are, i still prefer Me1's side missions over ME2 planet scanning and ME3 fetch quests lol. but personally i think 3 is the overall best of the series but that's just me. i didn't mind the ending like everyone else.

Or any of the ME1 fetch quests. Its like they purposefully put things out of the way, in the hardest part to get to on the map.
Yeah. You guys complaining about ME3 missions clearly didn't play ME1 or have short memories, or cheated.
Still, ME1 is the best in the series.

Also, the mission to Dekuuna that wasn't actually a mission. I was really looking forward to seeing the Elcor homeworld only to find it ended after planet scanning. Disappointing to say the least.

I found it boring, the shooting at the infected clusters was neither challenging or engaging in any way. I definitely enjoyed the video entries. Also, the level design looked cool. I really wished they did something like they did in project Overlord.EpicBoot2daFace wrote...

I didn't think the writing was worse than anything else, and the mission filled out a nice part of Geth-Quarian history. And if you really find it tedious, you could just skip it.Cthulhu42 wrote...

@Shaftell: The clusters weren't supposed to be hard in the first place. For the player, It was to pass the time while you went through the relevant video entries. In context, it's Shepard multitasking to deactivate fighter squadrons, all while gaining info that would play into your decision to side with one of the warring factions.

Those side missions really are terribly tedious. But I've gotten playing ME1 with all but the fetch quests done down to like 13 hours, so, while it is a grind, I know how to get past the terrible stuff quickly.
Plus nostalgia.

Aside from Priority Earth, and talking with glowboy, that stupid ship that's dangling off that cliff in ME2.
This.
Thank you. Someone to comiserate with. I made the mistake of not saving before hitting the galaxy map. After screwing around trying to find my way over to that beacon for an hour (I tried to just shoot the damned thing with a sniper rifle but it had plot armor), I decided it was faster to redo the previous mission, and avoid that place like a plague.
Remember the old days when you could just return to the Normandy and just not do the mission?

The Firewalker missions: Five boring missions with the Hammerhead, and without dialogue.
THANK YOU. I was wondering when someone was going to mention this, because it was my immediate choice. Firewalker felt like a completely different game. No save capability, no dialogue, little to no plot, and the resource gathering parts look like doing the vacuuming...IN SPACE!
Worst mission in ME1...I'm going to go with the consensus and pick the Luna AI mission. Also, while it's not really a single mission, finding all the metal deposits is like pulling teeth, because it requires hours of driving the Mako around trying not to get permanently stuck in a crevasse.
In ME3, I have to agree regarding the N7 missions. For joint worst, I'm going to nominate the reactors one on Cyrene and the comm centre one (why do we have giant radio dishes when we use quantum entanglement communication...?), because they obsessively talk up minor NPCs both during the missions and afterwards as if they were cooler than anyone else in the game.

In terms of strict gameplay, ME1 definitely had the worst missions, even on some of the the major plot planets. Feros. Oh god, the number of times I've stalled out on Feros just because I do not want to play that planet ever again.
But in general I think I have more patience for tedious gameplay than I do for bad story. ME1 might have been boring and tedious at times, but I don't think it ever made me actually angry like ME3.
