Ahem

I'm interested to see what the sales for Dead Space 3 were. EA were saying it would need to sell 5 million copies.

~500 000 on each console so far.

As usual, no Origin figures.

I can't imagine PC sales would make up the other 4 million given... certain remarks made by a dev.

Just wondering, why?

Can't be doing too great, the whole damned "Sales devalue games" bull**** line they've fed us and their recent releases are already on sale 30% off.

I would guess because of 3 reasons. First because the PC version just plain sucks, the developers themselves said they would not make the PC version better because they wanted everyone to have an equal version which is just a cop out to be lazy, second because if I remember correctly DLC never made it onto Dead Space 2 for PC for whatever reason and third because it is Origin only and a lot of people hate dislike it (myself included) and would rather not deal with it. I'd say EA would make lots more money if dealt with Valve, but they want to be greedy and stupid as well. I'd say they have nothing good to show when it comes to PC sales.

@Splinter Cell

The DS2 DLC wasn't released,  and even if you paid $80 for the collectors edition,  you were still stuck with a bunch of locked doors and content you couldn't access on the PC.  To this day I still feel incredibly ripped off.

@Naughty Bear

I think we would need to discuss the number of people who have installed Origin to answer that question.

Yeah I know, "equality amongst platforms" and all that nonsens. Before it used to be that the games were made first on PC and then ported to consoles. Isn't that the logical way to go anyways? Games are made on PCs you know.

Excerpt

"My issue is not the rejection of community feedback (we get that in bucketloads all day long and we learn from it in real time)," says Moore, "rather it was the fabrication of a story in order to generate controversy and ultimately
readership."
