Expect all them to be the future for ME just like Dead Space, You'll have to look elsewhere for a SP RPG experiance.
yup like that company that makes the witcher
They're good for now. However I have a feeling that good developers go in cycles. They start out making decent indie games no one cares about but eventually set the stage for the first breakthrough hit. Usually something inovative or ground breaking that resonates with gamers disillusioned by the big guys. Slowly but surely they gain a following until they catch the eyes of a major publisher.
The publisher set in loads of buerocracy and red tape as well as a huge infastructure that discourages risk and in turn innovation coupled with the departure of talented employees who become disillusioned eventually turns the company from a cutting edge big name to a company that just chases trends (read COD crowd) and abandons the type of risk that got them their in the first place.
Sound familiar. It should as many publishers have gone through this. In short I wouldn't be surprised if the company you mentioned ended up following that narrative to the 'T.' Then again there are companies like Valve that have managed to stay relatively true themselves while still raking in loads of cash. I guess we can only hope that CD Projekt RED doesn't turn to the dark side and ends up with a soul sucking publisher that relys more on big name and talking about innovation rather then actually doing it.
Sadly these days I feel like the only publishers that actually do a great job of manging their developers are Microsoft and Sony which is troublesome for obvious reasons as the games they make are limited to just one console limiting exposure to the market which limits the potential influence on trends for other developers and publishers to copy.
