To be fair he can't really say any thing else given his position.

When this DLC comes out, and if the fans hate it, it certainly won't be because BioWare hyped it up in a traditional way.
Having said that, I'm rooting for BW to knock this out of the park. Doesn't have to be a post-game epilogue (although I would prefer that) for me to love it. I really just want this to be something amazing.

Me too : / but at least now everyone will stop hoping for it to be post-ending and just appreciate whatever it is for what it is.

My first thought was "*GASP* Does Kaidan propose to Shepard?"
And then I realized (a) that's really sad, (

But playing a doomed character is fun!

Yep. Doomed to save the galaxy. And survive, if that's your thing.
Please great one, explain how he survives? Not that BioWare intended for him to live (which we all know they did), but logically how?

Because we see him survive.
and not the other way around.

Some people find it hard to take illogical things at face value.

And somehow an extended breath scene will fix this?
The damage has been done to the "realism" of it all the minute Shepard survived Harbinger's blast.

Yes, because an implication is different from a concrete answer. It would still be illogical, but at least there would be no question. As it stands, an implication is just that - an implication on an illogical premise.

An implication would be a scene showing Shepard's body and cutting the scene short right before he takes a breath.
The breath scene does not imply a sign of life, it confirms it.

Dark is often wrongly associated with profound, especially in recent popular media. Doomed characters are often automatically viewed as grandiose and great. OVerly complex stories and plots have also been popular e,g,. Inception.

My Shep survived because he was never on the Citadel, and didn't fall from orbit, re-enter Earth's atmo and survive a plunge to solid ground and broken concrete. He suffered his wounds on Earth from Harbinger's blast-o-death.
