We'll see. I don't care much, actually, even if they will be successful on their plan to get new shiny target audience, instead of old, boring, one. Because i'm a part of that old target audience, they decided to get rid of.MattFini wrote...

I traded in my copy of ME3 immediately after finishing and discovering the terrible ending, the brand is tarnished for me for life, and wouldn't DREAM of ever buying DLC or any future Bioware games. I don't care one bit about this announcement.
People claiming there is no fallout from this are just wrong. How many people out there are like me? Only time will tell, I suppose.
I'm not going to buy anything from EAWare ever again, i haven't bought DLCs except from Ashes.
But, i still own the disks, as a reminder of my stupidity. I should had read user reviews...
Not that i'm going to ever play ME3 again, and most probably none of ME series games also.
I'm a sucker for the series and, for the most part, I DO enjoy BioWare's content (Pinnacle Station and, to a lesser extent, Omega aside).
So I WILL likely get this DLC unless it turns out to be a complete piece of junk (not saying it will be, in fact I'm kinda excited about it).
But most of the people I know in my personal life have washed their hands of ME3. I'm not saying this is representative of any larger group but I did find it interesting. Especially when they all bought every piece of ME2-related DLC.
But even they all said they'll be back for the next game, so go figure.
So i definitely won't be part of that, and i don't care for opinions of those who have no taste for good storytelling. They'll eat anything they served anyway. Ideal consumers

Stevivor lists ME3 winning with 167 votes over Halo 4's 160.
The Ecapist one has ME3 winning with a very small plurality in an extremely contested poll - 13% is a pretty low "highest winning number."
The one in Spanish is a clear win for ME3, but it doesn't even hit 1000 votes for ME3.
Those seem like minor, small publications to me to be honest.
The escapist and gamespot small...... okay. Those aren;t all of them either, there are much more with far greater numbers. I just linked the ones a simple google search brought up.

Sure, the fetch quests and areas of the game that felt somewhat rushed were detractors, but I think it's important to remember that there is a lot to like about the game as well.

I know if I hadn't finished ME3 and was asked to vote for game of the year I would have voted for it. After the ending pushed Dishonored and some other games above it.

With regards to the peoples choice awards for ME3, you have to understand that less then half (around 45% according to Bioware ) finished the game. So it's a good chance that a lot of the people who voted for it may not have even seen the ending.

If they didn't have enough interest to finish the game why would they have enough interest to support and vote for it?

If your presented with a list of games that you have only finished one of them will you only vote on that one since your have still not finished playing the others?
Only something like 10% of gamers finish games, and I'm sure they voted for games they have yet to finish.
Edit: This is more a point of me saying it's innacurate to say a lot of people liked the ending because it won peoples choice awards, not because it didn't deserve them. A lot of people enjoyed playing Mass Effect but it's no indication of opinions over the endings.

I'm rguing against the notion that the endings ruined the game and need to fixed. Clearly they don't.

I can simply appreciate the other aspects of the game, despite not having much interest at all in playing it again.

I can understand people being unhappy, it's impossible to make everyone happy, it's their need to continue to defend the ending and explain how another game is possible. And that every time they release any news about a dlc they have to make many comments about how it won't change the endings. This to me is an indictation that things are not going as well as they have hoped. If it was a small problem it would not be getting the attention and defense of the future of the franchise as it has been getting a year later.

Aside from the ending, ME3 *was* a damn good game. Improved on the previous 2 in many ways. I don't think it was undeserving of most of these awards at all.

It's a matter of perspective. I see ME3 as a rushed, unimaginative play-it-safe Cover Shooter imitator with a few shining moments of brilliance, that is drowned out by the lazy design, awkward animations and a totalt disconnect from what the franchise was supposed to be.
I was thrown off during the opening of the game and except for a few truly great moments, I was shaking my head and face-palming myself throughout the entire journey. The ending was just a horrible, laughable demonic cherry on top a great big pile of grey sludge that looks and plays like every other big studio game out there.

This DLC may not be the last one, I wouldnt be surprised if theres one more. I expect this to be about the keepers, set on the citadel and not to affect the ending at all. Before release, Bioware will not confirm whether this is the last DLC, and when fan and review uproar starts welling, they'll tease that there's more DLC coming. Whether that's an conclusion DLC or not, doesn't matter. Happened with leviathan and EC - as soon as people start grumbling, along comes a leaked teaser. Distraction tactics. Also, there's been no mass effect DLC for months now, so releasing your last hurrah after such a long hiatus seems less productive.
yea (I agree i wouldn't be suprised either to see more dlc this year) but all the evidence pointing too a last hurrah of MP and SP content with some of the dev team moving to DA3

I agree they have everything done by now, but I'm wondering if they didn't hold out on 2 SP dlcs to release at the same time. COuld just be that MP will release first and be enough of a tease for the SP. Time and endless endless teasing will tell...

If you're referring to this DLC, true; they've been not been saying anything of substance other than 'we're not going to give you all what you've been asking for'. If you're referring to ME3, do I really need to link the broken promises thread? Or the trailors that turned out to have NOTHING to do with what the game actually had?
Anyone else more excited for Acavyos' upcoming Archangel movie than for this DLC?

I was referring to the DLC, but it also could apply to the game. The analogy just doesn't work, because it allows the player to decide what constitutes a steak and what constitutes a carrot.

I honestly don't have any need to see that thread, as I've seen it a thousand times. I'm just commenting on the analogy itself.
