Only one I've ever noticed a reaction to is when I sport the Collector General banner. For whatever reason, that seems to impress a lot of PUG folk in Silver and Gold.

Then again, this is on PS3. So, it's probably more of an "awe" factor that I played Collectors enough without freezing to even get the banner. LOL

Collector General and Cyber Warrior are comparatively rare; the Reapers and Cerberus banners are a lot more popular on PS3 for some reason. Hence the awe factor that the Geth and Collectors banners carry on Gold and, especially, Silver. People just don't see them that often.

I myself am using Cyber Warrior, as I see you are. I don't think I'll change it until I get Nomad :)

I personally run the Hero of the Last Days banner atm, and I ran the Hallowed Hero banner before that. Still, I'm close to unlocking the Machinist banner, and that'll be the one I'll always wear.

I really don't much care what banner a person has on when I join a PUG or someone joins a match I made, truth be told.

What matters to me is how they can play. I do analyze their loadout, but I'll give any loadout a chance, provided they don't disappoint me. Despite that, I've only kicked somebody once, and that was well before the banner system.

I was unaware that banners had these problems. I have the Survivor banner up, just because I like the Alliance SF symbol on the right. And I've never gotten any problems for having it up.

I have never really noticed any type of reaction to whatever banner I have had up though. I have had BotB for awhile but have never used it because I think it is goddamn ugly. Most of the time I use the Nomad banner, but before I got that used mostly the council operative or one of the weapon banners.

I also haven't noticed anyone reacting to other peoples banners while in a lobby, if it means anything I play on PC.

Hallowed Hero = 50% Missile glitcher/ 50% low level scrub who doesn't use consumables. I don't know why but this nearly always the case.

Never got that one. Do have Hero of the last days. And do have that one up sometimes. I like the look on it.

Running with the Council Operative banner. Definitely one of the most entertaining banners to work at imho.

I will say one thing about Lone Wolf banners in that many to most I have played with seem to let the banner go to their head and seem to actively avoid objectives and generally are ****e at being team players. Not saying that's always the case, but it frequently seems to be in my experience.

I don't play Gold. This happened with me on Silver (no, I'm not kidding).

And I don't even care about maxing commons... it's not like i used the after my first week playing.

You should. It greatly lowers the chances of your sps and psp's being filled with useless rubbish, stuff you might usually get in vet packs for a much cheaper price. It's smart to go vet until you can no longer and THEN move up to the other packs.

Oh and in regards to the hallowed hero banner comment - you're wrong. I use that. Half because I have nothing else but I just think it looks visually appealing. Silly people usually think it means more.

I noticed when I was sporting my 'Lone Wolf' banner that I got a lot of kick votes. I used 'Monster' for a while, but lately, I've been sporting the BotB banner, and I've noticed that people have odd reactions to it. People who've played with me know my skill level and what I'm decent/terribad with, so there's no change there, but in PUGs, it seems like there are 4 standard reactions.

1. Banners don't mean anything.
This is the right one. This is the one that I hope for in general, which makes it strange and confusing that I sport the banner that I do.

2. Banners don't mean anything, AND I HAVE TO PROVE IT! I'M GOING TO PUT ON MY MOST TRYHARD class AND OUTSCORE THIS BASTARD! RAWR!!!
This one annoys the ****** out of me. I see it on threads here a lot; "Guy had BotB banner, did worst on the team!" If a banner means nothing, stop trying to prove that it means a player is bad.

3. This guy's the Best of the Best! **** equipment, this guy can carry the match no problem!
I hate this one more than 2, because if I'm not using a class I can carry with, it might mean a wipe, and if I am, it means a long clear time either way.

4. What the **** is that graphic thing behind your GT?
This one's fun. Usually get messages from newer players asking how I got it. I just point them towards the challenge system, because I'm embarassed over the amount of time it took to get BotB.

Have others noticed anything similar for other banners, or noticed other reactions?

You are on xbox good sir, there is your problem.

I wouldn't mind #2 in a PUG if they're actually competent. That just means less work for me if the other PUGs are bad.

As for #3, if more than 2 people in a PUG lobby are not putting on any equipment, I usually just leave. No equipment in a PUG usually means that player is not as invested in the match and will bleed out and/or rage quit.

Got some reactions from "Dog of War" banner, one of the few I wanted.

Switched back to the "Hero of the Last Days" banner for two reasons.

Have never gotten a bad reaction to it.

It looks cool.

Unless I can figure out how to turn banners off (advice from previous threads didn't work), I will probably keep that banner.

Turn off banner by going to the unnamed Weekend Challenge slot and click "set title". That will remove your current title.

I actually got kicked from a Platinum for using BotB once. They called me a tryhard elitest who was going to steal all their kills. Weirdest kick ever.

I don't get comments about my banners. For the most part, I don't care about banners, unless someone is using the same one as me. Then it's awkward.

Usually get response 2 or 3. I find it funny when they try to outscore me and put on their best gear. I sick back and let them win credits are credits. When they take off their good gear if I notice It I do too and switch to a kit I am bad with that'l teach them to think I am going to carry em. I only wear the banner if a friend is around when pugging I put something else on.

I only "use" BotB if I'm amongst friends, or if I'm in a bad mood and am using a class I like and know I can carry with (which is not JUST the "try hard" classes), otherwise, I do feel that generally the reactions are either negative (who does this guy think he is? etc) or assumptive (of carrying so let's not feel the need to try).

When I see a *seemingly* respectable player, such as one like you said with Best of the Best, it's a fun personal challenge to try and outscore them. I don't shout it out and a little friendly competition is fun. I think it makes your overall team better. But then again, a good team on Gold makes it look like tin-foil difficulty. I don't mind, I need the credits anyway.^_^

I feel like banners brought some color to the lobbies and that's really all the significance I attach to them. I'll never have to worry about BotB, because I just won't spend the time on the grindier challenges. When I see it equipped by others, I tend to think " Well well well, someone's got lots of spare time." On a more positive note, it should show the player is experienced and familiar with the game.

Currently, I display Dog of War cause I think it looks cool. Prior to that, I displayed the Warfighter banner cause I liked the pretty colors.

Guilty.

When I see someone pretentious enough to call himself "Best of the Best", I'll switch to an "underpowered" class and outscore the **** out of them without using a single missile while doing every single objective, just to prove that they're not even close to being the best of the best and they should feel silly for using such a pretentious title.

I do have the Botb banner. But I'm not douche enough to use it because I realize some players are better than me so I don't deserve that title.

Have noticed recently (4 out of 4 matched) that B ot B banner wearers have been quitting matches half way through.
Not sure if just lag , connection probs or they are annoyed that they are being outscored.
Personally don't care what banner is displayed.
