2. Banners don't mean anything, AND I HAVE TO PROVE IT! I'M GOING TO PUT ON MY MOST TRYHARD class AND OUTSCORE THIS BASTARD! RAWR!!!

Guilty.

When I see someone pretentious enough to call himself "Best of the Best", I'll switch to an "underpowered" class and outscore the **** out of them without using a single missile while doing every single objective, just to prove that they're not even close to being the best of the best and they should feel silly for using such a pretentious title.

The envy is strong with this one. Image IPB

Obviously, you do not know who Feneckus is.

Sad to read of so many pathetic/jealous gamers judging people based on a little graphic. I've gotten the OMG why does he have a picture reaction a few times for my Tech tree banner (woo engy!) Thats the reaction I had when I first saw a Hero of the Last Days one. Something unlockable? Must have!

Nooby question, which banners is this BoB, or BotB you guys refer to? I don't see on in the list with those initials.

It's the meta-banner that you get for completing every other banner. Best of the Best. The 'Mass Effect' banner.

When I see a Lone Wolf or BotB banner, I usually think - okay, this guy is a great asset to the team, since he most probably can handle himself on harder difficulties.
Halloween, Corsair, Loyalist and Hero of the Last days banners were not that hard to get, so their owners are usually treated af is they had no banner at all (which doesn't mean they can't do well in the game)
Other banners usually cause no specific reactions.

Anyway, I'd rather say that banners are not in any relevance to the skill level, because I've seen low N7 and no banner rockers that would solo the whole match, as well as BotB guys that were just awful.

I had the "Lone Wolf" banner on when I joined a lobby and there was already 2 people trying to kick me, so I left. They lost a good player.

Would like the Lone Wolf Banner ( Goes with the name lol ). But I can't solo for s***. Even tho it kinda happens sometimes in gold pugs.<_<

I had the Lone Wolf title set and one guy said he didn't like it because it implies I'm not a team player.

Edit: My personal reaction depends on the banner. The ones that require a decent amount of gameplay usually (not always) means the player is good. I'm really close to getting Hardcore and I've had pleasant experiences with people wearing that one so I'll sport that one for awhile when I get it lmao.

I literally just unlocked Cyber Warrior on Sunday, so it is my new "shiny" and I am running it now.

Most likely won't change again until I either a) unlock a new banner, B) unlock the Nomad I want or c) unlock the Hardcore I want.

Yeah, Hardcore looks great, too. But I'll only use it if I get it before Nomad.

Other than Hardcore, Nomad, and Cyber Warrior, my favorites —aesthetically— are Cerberus and Earth. But I had Earth for too long and I kind of got tired of it. And I'm too hipster to use the Cerberus one, which a lot of people use. I like bluish colors and/or space-ish images on my banner.

I'm using the Machinist banner because I like Quarians, I admire the Geth, I'm a total Talimancer, and my fav MP character is the QFE.

I don't use a banner to show off what I achieved (since it's just grindwork anyways). Especially since I'm not a superskilled player, I don't want people to expect me to play superskilled just because of some silly banner. Besides, I don't even like the looks of most banners. :P

I figure I'm fairly safe with council operative banner.
Once the DLC drops, and I finally max my manifest which will eventually happen, I may well go through the promotions for completeness, but I doubt I'd display the BOTB banner - I couldn't live up to the expectations.

I like using the Council Operative, Nomad, Hardcore and Enemy faction banners. I use the Best of the Best when I want to make a foe out of myself (and other elite players) or feel like being a dick. Being bannerless is probaly my favorite though.

Banners are meaningless.'

I judge players based on their n7 rank. :D

I wear the Lone Wolf banner to try and help remove the stigma associated with it (rambo-ing, being on the other side of the map and not reviving/doing objectives) but if i'm using a class i'm not really good with i will slap on Earth or Nomad, love those spacey type pics, also Her of the last days looks pretty bad-ass.

Got BotB last week, I had the displeasure of carrying some pugs today. However I did like how another guy had BotB in another game, we were sitting in the lobby for 5 mins and decided to ready up for gold. I mean we did solo after all. That was fun and eventually more people showed up. I still have a competitive attitude when it comes to the this game so I couldn't let him get first, but it was fun.

Almost all of my usual 'team' are BotBers, but it's getting to the point that we just use the N7 one for promotions. More aesthetically pleasing and if we DO have to PUG a player or two, they aren't LOLTRYHARD.

Unfortunately, I have a massive e-peeN7, so -I- always get try hards regardless. Nice sometimes when I actually get a skilled tryhard. Means I can drop my bigboy pants and chill for a bit.

I don't judge on banners. I rotate mine through the ones I think look the coolest (Survivor, Council Operative, Death Guard, Collector General etc)

I don't usualy pay attention to the banner pugs wear...

... But when I do, it's when a BotB uses a GPS with a Shredder Mod and a Smart Choke, and equips with Drill Rounds III and Targeting VI III (true story).

I've decided to go with what ever banner is my most recent unlocked banner .... Right now that is Monster .... I never notice anyone trying to kick me for when I use a banner.

I just tend to think Botb banner bearers won't need to be carried. I've been wrong once or twice but overall that remains true, though i do feel that displaying Botb is somehow pretentious. That's probably because trophy systems in general have little to zero impact on me. Perhaps they would if i was still 15, but that's long gone as i'm not much younger than Stardusk. :P

I wear my nomad banner only because it's the first i obtained and it's pretty. I've yet to notice any specific reaction to it.
I suspect my CPs probably incite some to think they're going to be carried though. Don't think much of anything else banner-wise, i trust amount of CPs&loadout.

Can't say I would kick you for it. I find the idea of booting someone who managed to get one of those top banners out silly, unless they got it via missile glitch. Nor am I so desperate to get the the top score I need the competition removed.

To see what a typical reaction to BotB is like, I switched from my usual Outsider to BotB and hosted a Gold PUG, determined not to kick anyone. End result - 1 decent team-mate who used consumables and 2 team-mates who happily readied up with zero consumables and no gear. Considering the fact that both of these guys had level III or IV rare weapons, they should at least have some low level gear.

I've never gotten kicked because of my BotB banner. But, I've definitely got the reactions of "I need to prove I'm better", "They can carry me", and the curiosity messages. I don't mind people asking me about how I got it or anything. I think it's fun to share your stories. But the other two really bother me. But now I've decided to switch my banner out once a day. That way I'm just siphoning through them.
