In my current playthrough, my game has somehow gotten corrupted such that the mouse transformation leaves me unable to change back to human, making the game unprogressable.

The game plays fine, though, otherwise, so I think if I could somehow skip past the fade portion, I'd be able to finish the playthrough.   I've seen a few forum posts of people saying the game glithched on them and they skipped the fade with no consequences, so maybe I can make it happen intentionally.

I have some basic familiarity with the toolset - enough to mod in some new items, but I'm not sure what the best (easiest/safest/least risky) way to approach this:

- Edit level to allow me to avoid/walk around the fade trigger area?  (I don't no anything about level editing, though)
- Somehow disabled/remove fade quest or the trigger that starts it. (I don't know much about quests or how the  triggers work, either)
- Somehow flag the fade stuff as already complete in my save game, or mod the game to always treat it as complete.  (I don't know where to look for this stuff or if this might cause other complications)

Any help would be appreciated!  Thanks!

You really don't want to do what you're doing.

This would be much less damaging to the game.

Wow, I didn't know you could do all that with the game state through the console. I'll have to check it out. Thanks, EJ42!

Before I saw your reply, though, I decided to poke around and try to figure things out for myself. I got it working, so in case anyone else is interested, here's what I did: (though, the console is probably a better option as you said)

It turns out that the player's entry into the fade is caused by an action at the end of the first conversation with the sloth demon. I found the creature in the level, and brought up the conversation tree. The [End conversation] node for the dialog where it sends you to the fade has an action attached to it to send you there. I just removed the action, and the conversation ends without you in the fade.

The sloth demon remains there, passive. You can talk to him again (same conversation), but can't fight him. I was then able to get the Litany from Niall's body, continue on with the mage circle, and complete it as normal. Seems to have worked fine. Hooray!

I foudn these instructions on another site. I haven't tested it yet though.

1.- Enable the console

2.- Open the console

3.- Type "runscript zz_cir_debug" (Without the "s)

4.- Select "Jump to area"

5.- Select "More..." 4 times (Or until you see "Sloth in Fade"

6.- Select "Sloth in Fade"

7.- ???

8.- Fade Completed!

OK i've tested it and that way doesn't work that well because your party members get stuck in the fade. The best way to do is it as follows:

1. Enter the mage tower alone, with no party members.

2. open console; type "runscript zz_cir_debug"

3. Jump to area -> Fourth floor.

4. Talk to sloth demon and he will teleport you to fade

5. open console, type runscript_zz_cir_debug

6. This time jump to area - lake calenhad docks.

7. Put everyone in your party and start the mage tower again.

Next time you visit sloth demon in the fourth floor, he won't teleport you to fade because the game assumes he already did.

Now to get the lost attribute points, I use this mod:

Just use this mod if you want to skip it and still get the correct attribute bonuses, www.dragonagenexus.com/downloads/file.php. You'll have to delete a couple of files from the Improved Atmosphere mod if you also use that, but it's easy to do.
