Ok is there a way to overwrite the music files with different music files as in if the vanilla file was DAoriginsmain and you wanted to add use a different song to replace that just change the name of the song to DAoriginsmain to overwrite it. On TES Oblivion that show you could do it and it was waaay easy, but i cant find the music files anywhere. So can anyone help  me out?

Well. Probably there is a way to do this, but I'm sure it wouldn't be anywhere near as easy as it was with Oblivion.

You can't find the music files because they are bundled in sound archives; these are located in [install path]/modules/single player/audio.

Overwriting would probably involve extracting the music files, replacing the files, and then recompiling a new fsb with FMOD to overwrite the orginal fsb ardhive. I think a far easier way would be to look at the script in the areas. Many area scripts or plot event scripts define certain tracks to be played when the script is called. So you could make a simple FMOD fsb file that simply consists of the tracks you want (with whatever name) and change the scripts to reflect the new name (ok, maybe it's not easier). The beauty of this method, however, is that you would put your sound file and the altered scripts in an override folder which would make it easy to undo and also easy to share with others, since they can simply delete that override if they don't like your changes or combine them with other music changing mods in a modular fashion.

Yeah, it is easy to add music to Elder Scrolls games. I usually didn't overwrite, but just added more tracks to the folder to increase variety - I liked the score, but it's such a long game that even a good score gets repetitive. But the Elder Scrolls games tend to have much fewer scripted events than the micromanaged storytelling of Bioware games, which makes sense for a game of sandbox exploration.
