It is available for download as well.
To clarify, what do you mean by "download"?
Do you mean that is available through digital distribution channels such as Steam, Impulse, D2D, EA.
Or do you mean that is available from bioware.com, can be purchased with "bioware points" and downloaded via the interface used for the DLC content such as Warden's Keep, Return to Ostagar and so on.

Sorry if this has been stated before but i was wondering, after we finish origins and start playing awakening,we will be able to return to origins locations?like denerim?
No, once you begin your Awakening campaign you've effectively advanced in time to a point after the Blight has ended - so you'll carry through decisions etc made in Origins, but there is no going back.
So if I understand the statements above then the decisions that you make in Origins will affect the decisions and playablility of Awakening. Which would make the choices you made earlier definetly have an impact later. Am I reading this right?

I'd like to understand what you consider 'desperately needed'?
Many have reported (in the Xbox360 forums, at least) game ending save game corruption bugs that cause progress in the game to be impossible, or crashes during some of the final missions that stop completion of the game. I'd think those types of fixes would be "desperately needed" but others might not think so.
It's not all about achievements and dexterity, you know.
I think by level of support he means that the Xbox360 version of the game has critical issues (noted above) that have not been addressed in a title update and we're 2.5 months out from release. The decision to tie the title update to DLC is NOT required by Microsoft. If I remember correctly, the decision was made to make last minute changes to RtO (like including an achievement to increase perceived value) that made the DLC require the title update (and then changes had to be made to the title update, further delaying it) and once you made RtO REQUIRE the title update, that's what makes MS require both to pass cert at the same time. So a seemingly innocuous decision to change RtO (at the last minute, in Development terms) tied RtO to the title update, and now problems with RtO are delaying people who may not be interested in further DLC at this time from finishing or playing the game they've already purchased.Fernando Melo wrote...
And if by level of support you mean a delay in the console update once it is tied up to a DLC pack then I expect they'll run into the same situation, as would any other developer, as this is an MS & Sony requirement at that point that they be sent to certification and need to pass together.
Other companies don't appear to be tying their title updates to new content delivery (which is prone to delays), so their support efforts aren't hampered in this way. It would be nice if Bioware considered this going forward, but I must admit I'm not familiar with the costs associated with releasing the patches separately from paid content.
The frustration is tied directly to the fact that the game and DLC is so good and fun that whenever it breaks it really brings you down. The frustration is also tied to the appearance that Bioware appears MUCH more focused on delivering new content than fixing issues for content that has already been purchased. I'd kind of hope that for ME2 and future DA content not have day/date patches for release and make title updates pass through cert independently of new content like some other developers do if it's at all possible.Fernando Melo wrote...
I understand your frustration, but try to keep in mind the timeframes
we're operating at - when we were making those decisions (shortly after
game launch when we started working on patches/updates) we weren't
expecting it being delayed this late so this was not an issue, it
wasn't months later.
Thank you and the Bioware team for all the great work and the wonderful stories we get to play through. It may not sound like it at the moment, but I'm a HUGE fan.

Now onto my question: has there been any progress in the negotiations with Sony to allow mods to work on PS3? I really would like to see some mods make it to the console... Even if I have to pay for the download!

Good question - Yes, we still have quite a few features for social related to this that we'd like to implement. In terms of timing, the web team is gearing up for the launch of ME2 as their next major priority so shortly after that I can get an update from them on the roadmap and start messaging that to the community.
So, there will be an integration of similiar forums and features on this site to include ME2 content for game owners soon?

Thanks Fernando, a weekly update is great, even if it is just "Nothing to Report".
Yup, it's good for people who just check the official news without paying attention to the rest of forum activity.

damn right we were! we've been waiting a whole 2 months now! and thats only the announcement! now we'll have to wait, what?, another 2 months! absolutely unacceptable!Fernando Melo wrote...
We're really excited to finally be able to announce this publicly, as we know how much you've been asking for a full sized expansion for DA:O.![]()
i'm really really glad that you didn't forsake expansions in favor of DLC.
btw. will we ever get to know what was wrong with return to Ostagar? i know theres no reason to tell us, but i think things like that are really interesting and give insight into your work.

In this case, having spotted something we felt impacted the quality we wanted at the last minute we opted to hold the release of the DLC in order to address it. It was a really difficult decision for the team to miss getting this out to you for xmas and the holidays - but it was the right decision to make.
There seems to be some confusion here between to seperate delays. You seem to be attributing the "issue" disovered just before 1/5 to causing the failure to release during the holiday season. That holiday delay was presumably something totally seperate that we've never really been informed about.

Now, let's hope RTO comes out relatively soon - that and ME2 and Bioshock 2 should keep me entertained until the expansion is out.

Thanks for the update on Awakening and RtO I'll be checking in for that ETA every day hoping for it ^^
Also we can simply download Awakening when it's released? so I could just put money on my PSN account and download it then? That'd be much easier than going to gamestop or etc.
