Will Awakening for the 360 be in a download form? Or will there also be discs like Origins that will add on to it? Thanks for the update!
Wondering this myself. I don't live close to any gaming stores so a downloadable expansion would be awesome.

Thank you for these updates. Just wanted to give a pat on the back to you and all at the Bioware team. I have not been a gamer since Baldur's Gate, but the story telling and character depth in DA:O has brought me back!

So tell us why Awakening has to be an expansion that is purchased through a retail store, where replication/duplication of CDs, packaging, shipping, etc...has to be accounted for to drive the price up, when it could just be hung on the server as DLC like RtO was and purchased with Bioware points? Size of the content? I'd gladly spend the time online to download it, no matter the size, to get the cost savings.
It is available for download as well.squid5580 wrote...
So then why would you tie a patch to DLC to begin with. I could understand if you were talking Day 1 DLC but this is months later and I would really like to play a different class. Like an archer. But making an archer is pointless since they don't get better (which is the whole purpose of an rpg). Sure they get more HP but when you are putting all your points into dex and they aren't doing anymore damage that is a problem. Liena in my current game has a dex of well over 30. And yet she is not doing any more damage than 22 (unless I get a crit) with "her" bow. This has been going on for 2 levels that I noticed (since I started paying attention because I was getting smoked). And since I have already put my money down on ME2 preorder for the 360 and this is the kind of support I have been getting (which is none) I would like to know if my money would be better spent on the PC version.
I understand your frustration, but try to keep in mind the timeframes we're operating at - when we were making those decisions (shortly after game launch when we started working on patches/updates) we weren't expecting it being delayed this late so this was not an issue, it wasn't months later.
And to be clear, the update will still be delivered separately from the DLC - you don't need to buy the DLC to get it for example - but it'll be released at the same time as the DLC.
I can imagine the timeframe you guys are under. You just got one game out, you have another big title coming out a couple months later. You are working on a small DLC pack, a big expansion pack, lord only knows how much DLC is planned with ME2 (which I hope is more "Bring Down the Sky" and less "Pinnacle Station") and you guys need to get the whole "this store gets this dlc preorder bonus and that store get this one" going (which is foolish IMHO, but then again I miss the good ole preorder figurines days). And lets not forget X-mas just passed. I understand you guys are slammed and there is only so many hours in a day.
With all that said though here is the heart of my issue with this. I can understand some things making it past QA.
The xp and item dupes, I can even understand the memory leak getting past them if they never experienced it. Which is quite possible if it is related to the other 2 exploits. But how did an entire stat not working properly slip by thier notice?
I also don't think frustrated it the right emotional response for my feelings either. It is really disappointment. Bioware has made some of the best rpgs I have ever played. Baldur's Gate 2, Mass Effect and what little I got to play of the Kotor series (which was nothing to do with the game itself that I never invested more time into it and you guys should consider putting them up on the marketplace). It just doesn't inspire confidence that this is the first game since you guys merged with EA (and no I am not one of the "EA is evil" haters) and this happens.
Now if I may ask one off topic question since you seem to be actually following this thread and responding to it there is one minor problem that you might be able to help with. The bow enhancement "rapid aim" what exactly does it do? I have read tons of speculation but nothing definitive. Can you point me in the direction to where I might find an official answer?
Thank you for your time and responses.
PS. you might want to consider announcing that people won't need to buy RTO to get the patch. There is alot of confusion about that on a couple boards I frequent. And the reactions are less than pleasant if you can imagine.

What I wonder about and would like to know is the "goodies" which may or may not come with the expansion pack. I personally prefer the digital download as that's simply easier and frankly "greener" too (no messy materials needed for packaging and what not), but at times the game developers, for some reason, when putting the "goodies" (like in-game items, bonus content and such) keep shafting the digital purchasers by not putting any such content and goodies in at all. One would think that the digital copy purchasers should be, in fact, be rewarded for keeping the things "greener" and, frankly, saving a buck for the company for not having to spend time and resources on all that packaging and what notSo, will digital copy buyers get additional content and "goodies" too or not?
There is a mod which copies the DLC items, same skin, colour, stats, logo, just a different name and text.
So really no biggy

We'll update you as soon as we have a new date for it - believe me, we're eager to do so.
I would suggest that you hurry up, seeing as of today, non-legitimate owners of the game, have a chance to enjoy (an incarnation of) RtO while the rest of us wait, in anticipation.

Completely different system. You'll select a DAO save game from which to import your character/plot info from DAO to Awakening - no internet connection needed. If you'd like to have your Awakening updates/progress show up on social then you will need to be logged in etc (and resolve whatever is preventing your character from updating)Dennis Carpenter wrote...
Will they ever fix the character profile update problems.............if our characters cant update how do we get them into the new content. Thanks for listening.Have you posted/look on the tech support threads for the platform you're playing on?
The problems with profile storage are so NOT client side, denial doesn't make it so. The real question is, have you guys looked at the many posts about profile problems that still occur after opening ports etc.? I think not. Else you could have, like, posted replies in those threads...
