The manual doesn't say that dex increases the damage with bows it says daggers and arrows. By "arrows" I assumed it meant the enchanted arrows you can equip in that side slot -- like fire arrows, cold arrows, arrows of filth (those things). In the "bow" section it talks about strength enhancing a bow's damage (except for the crossbows). So, according to the manual, I'm pretty sure the game works correctly, save possibly for dex modifying arrow damage, which I've never checked since I consider using the 'special arrows' to be a waste of money. Anyway, my point was that you can increase an archer's damage by simply increasing the strength modifier.
Have a good day, and God bless.

And I don't like the system. It was mentioned that Bioware wanted to implement a system so people could install DLC as seamless as possible. It doesn't work, in my opinion. You cannot buy the DLC without points in game, and you still have to use a browser to buy the points in the social site. Then go back to the game, use the points, and yes, you can play while the thing is being downloaded, but after that you're asked to restart so it gets installed and can be played.
In the end, you still have to exit the game to purchase and install, so the existence of the seller is only useful to advertise the content while playing. And since you already have a banner in the launcher, and can send messages to the accounts, and put the content in the add-on website and the DLC menu... well, there's no way a person interested in buying DLC can miss future announcements.
Conclusion: I still would like an official option, made by Bioware, to "hide" (or prevent the installation of) DLC quest-givers until I buy and install the content.

No, once you begin your Awakening campaign you've effectively advanced in time to a point after the Blight has ended - so you'll carry through decisions etc made in Origins, but there is no going back.
I hope this doesn't mean that characters who play Awakening will be ineligible for future DLC. That would make me a sad panda. My hope would be that post-Awakening DLC will be compatible with both Origins and Awakening.
I'm also curious: will the disc-based version of Awakening be an install on the consoles, or a stand-alone? I'd normally go for the download on this kind of thing, but I'm starting to feel the pinch on my old 20-gig HDD, and a stand-alone disc could save it some space

One other thing, has anything changed about Return to Ostagar? Do you have an ETA, or maybe a guesstimate of when it will come out?

i would like to offer an observation that you can share with your decision makers. if you search Return to Ost. in the forum there are often posts explaining that their RtO DLC did not work properly. this is because if you click on the button to download the PC version, it sends you to a place to buy points--they think they are actually buying / queuing the DLC and the content should download.
i think this has caused confusion and exacerbated the frustration at the delay. people have already purchased it in their view.
I think it needs to be clearly marked with the RtO page that the content is not yet available. this won't make everyone happy, and will not help those that already feel deceived by this purchase, but it will ensure that BioWare (or EA) (who ever) has done their due-diligence to inform customers that they are only buying points... to use at a latter time.
If players feel cheated in any way, they are more likely to become estranged and angered. 2 cents... take it or leave it... share at your discretion.
thanks again for the update. much appreciated.

Has there been any indication of exactly *what* the console patch will do?
While I have no major gameplay issues, (I hear there is a Dex issue- which I was starting to see in-game a bit) I would like the Warden Commander Armor to grant the set bonus it says it will- since I paid for it and all.

This last minute problems takes more than a week to fix? Anyways please give us an estimated date.
Don't expect any date estimates. They aren't going to update until they have the date set in stone.

i would hope 20 gig hdd is a typo and you meant 200 or 220 or something like that.

Thanks for the news. Glad to know you guys care about us fans!
Dragon Age: Origins is DUH BOMB.
By the way, I know you probably cannot answer this question but, what if your character, you know... didn't accept the ritual and chose to stab the Archdemon by him/herself? Will the player be allowed to carry on that character regardless? That seems like it would be a little... unrealistic? However, it would also be appreciated by those who played through and died. Myself not included because I decided: Morrigan, deal accepted.
Thanks!
geez, talk about a spoiler....
... Oops, lol. I certaintly hope you've already won the game
