to get the latest info

scrolling through the front page
clicking on threads with "bioware"
reading the OP's scoring idea
and all i can do is stare

You must learn young one that just because you don't like a thread doesn't mean it will get locked. When you hit pueberty you will understand this is how the world works.

Wow l2read adressed and debunked 100 times alreday, nuking spawns is not skill, you and your missle giltchers do not make the game fun you simply take it away from others

for the millionth time quicker does not equal better

any noob can slap on a harrier in a TGI

You haven't debunked it. You've never responded to people explaining that the Claymore and Javelin would be punished. You also haven't explained why your notions of fun are miraculously universal. I don't have fun holding the hands of incompetent players that need someone by their side to rez them constantly and that can't kill Assault Troopers without help. Who would?

The difference is, in the current system, whiny, camping noobs like yourself get rewarded exactly as much as people like me, who prefer games in which four people operate independently. Your notion of teamwork is insane; different teams are allowed to have different team dynamics.

Since I don't have fun with your way of play, that means that you're obviously unambiguously wrong in all situations.

New system:
-Solo kills get bonus points.
-Greater proximity from other players is rewarded.
-Spending too much time in one location earns negative points.

Yay! Now everyone can finally have fun in this game rather than sitting near each other all game! How refreshing.

That system would heavily punish any good Claymore or Javelin user

Claymore/Javelin wielding Infiltrators can be far away from teammates and stil get all the solo kill usually get 75 weapon kills medal on Gold.

It would make weapons like Widow, Black Widow, Mantis unusable because of OSK

You know, Brian brought up a lot of good points - many of which I had not thought out..

I'm glad to see the devs thought of all of this.

I think the system is skewed towards the kill shot though. It encourages people to work hard to get that last bullet in there - in effect kill stealing. Yes, I get that it is for the good of the team and all of that jazz.

I would like to see assists get more credit. Debuffing should count for huge points. This gets all crazy with some powers that take long times to cast vs. those with insta effect, tech combos, biotical explosions and all of that. I know it is crazy to keep track of, yet the game obviously does because it calculates damage on the units.

Debuffers should get the creds just as much as the damage doers.

This is the strangest thread I've seen on here in a while.

I think there could definitely be better scoring options... and as far as negative points go.... they detract from your score if you have a score (if you have 0, you can't get any lower). The thing is, there would have to be incentive for people to want to succeed. With a system like this, the incentive would need to be stronger. There will always be trolls though.... such is life.

I agree that debuffing needs to be factored in to the points, but the points for other assists are fine IMO. Often times I will have the gold assist medal, less than 50 kills to my name but still top the scoreboard just because I'm constantly casting on enemies that my teammates are shooting at.

I agree the the debuffing powers could use some bonus.

no gun OHKs bosses, focus on those tagets, when you want to fight mooks pull out your sidearm

This suggestion is broken in so many ways. There weapons which can multiple enemies with one shot (e.g. the Black Widow) which would count as Solo kills in your scheme. And if I use that weapon I usually hang back from the team because a sniper build doesn't work very well in CQC. But I'm still helping the team because I'm killing enemies that are near to them and some of them even before they can get anywhere close to my team mates.

No, anyone that demands that other players hold their hand all match is a camping noob.

Most importantly, though, is that anyone that disagrees with my style of play needs to be punished with negative scores so that they're forced to play in a way that's fun if they don't want to delevel and lose their precious epeens. I mean, who wouldn't want to have FUN? We should promote FUN, and it's FUN to run around like a crazy person killing things.

Nope, he just continually claims that he should be rewarded for being a bad player... mandating that he SHOULD be rewarded for playing in the way that he perceives as being right, when he is clearly a minority among the player base.

I've already explained to him, if I make it to the spawn first I'm not going to wait around. No, we're going to start killing stuff, because unlike OP we don't need 3 other players to baby-sit us in a gold game, and unlike OP we don't think everyone should be bound at a low level, rendering skill a moot point.

His whole argument stems from him most likely being outscored often in pugs, and he doesn't like this. So he contrives a bizarre system where everything that a competent, efficient player does negatively impacts his score, but everything a carried, dead weight scrub does is rewarded.

No thanks, I'll detonate my own tech bursts, I'll score my own 20 headshots medal, thank you very much OP.

well maybe if you weren't so much of a homophobe you wouldn't be so afaraid of holding hands. learn to wrok with a team and stop being so antisocial kid, real life is about working as a team. Maybe when you grow up you'll learn what fun is, it is not missle glitching.
