You're logic is flawed, recheck your premise. The Destroyer standing in the face of the enemy is as much a team player as the Volus keeping everyone alive as the GI up on the high ground covering the hack on London.

I don't see how that's logical. I mean I suppose a destroyer can detonate tech explosions well enough and can get assists as well.

The point is that every action a teammate does will contribute to the bottom line. Let's face it, the Destroyer can handle drawing way more aggro than a Drell. And perhaps I prefer to detonate my own BE. Does that make me a bad teammate? Everyone also has their own play style. If player A likes to fight from a distance but player B is built for and prefers CQC, who's right?

first: my drelgaurd would like a word with you

no matter how quick your CD is its always more efficient to have one player prime while another detonate. for example:

player1: snapfreeze
player2: overload
repeat
(results in CE's and TBS)

player 3:warp
player 4: reave
repeat
results in 2 BE's

This issue is coming up again and again, why do you all seem to think that a faster game means a more fun game? If a match lasts 2 seconds is that the most fun you can have? seriously kids?

In some situations, it does.
My case in point: 6 days a week I'm limited to about 90min of game play due to my work schedule, I find this game fun, but I can't sit and play a 40min PuG game or even a 30min PuG game usually. So, the shorter the games, the more I can get in, thus causing more fun to be had before having to go to work.

If you want people to play in the way that you want them to, then you should find a group of like minded people and form a pre-made =P

It sounds like your system will punish me for using a single shot weapon that can cause me to solo kill any non boss-mob in a single hit.

Or for trying to get away from that Slash/Shockwave spammer when I'm sniping.

That single shot weapon will work wonders on bosses and will still leave enough health on them to be taged by teammates.

That slash, shockwave spammer will be spamming in the opposite direction protecting your flank and leaving you with uninterupted shots. Hopefuly its a QFE thats next to you cryoblasting all your targets =D

Problem is that you'd have to limit yourself in order to not get negative scores.

And thats the whole fun of video games is limmitting yourself. If you could make it so your character had infinite health and could do infinite damage would that be fun? Of course not! When you limmit yourself you allow what you lack to be made up by your teammates, that dependancy adds real challenge to the game and promote cooperative team play. If you are a competitive person there are other games out there for you CODBO, Halo, CSS, ect.

That's funny you'd say that.

You'll see more Teamplay/cooperation in competitive gaming than in most casual games.

Anyhow, limiting yourself isn't fun for some people. Your POV is subjective. Some people like limiting themselves. Some don't. Who are we to tell them how they should play the game?

Also this. Faster game = more time to do other stuff.

So then we should also only be allowed tech and biotic classes now. Should we just throw all the high DPS classes out of the airlock? Do you propose that only certain characters are allowed in certain lobbies? Kinda removes being able to play your own game doesn't it?

Contrary to your assumption, people who bleed out tend to have lower scores.

but its not your own game, its your teams game, if you want your own game, start a solo match.

Penalizing for solo kills is a horrible idea. So many "foot soldier" characters can die from one shot or from biotics most people would have no score, or a negative score, by the end of the match. Teaming up to kill one husk or a swarmer seems....well, hell, ridiculous, to be kind. Being penalized for such an action is even more so.

That doesn't increase th fun that only increases the credits, which is besides the point, if you only have an hour, playing 2 games where you work cooperatively with a team in unquestionanbly more fun than playing 6 games where you sit and do nothinging because everything is killed before you get there. that's not fun for anyone.

If you come up with the definition of fun and are able to prove it, then you my friend would be a billionare

By definition mean come up with some guarenteed formula for a game to be fun for everyone

Be less codependent and more cooperative... This isn't a general mmorpg where everyone is linked to the hip in a dungeon. The difference between a 20 min game and a 30 min game can be someone using a missiles to clear spawns(esp wave 8 collectors gold) and a rambo picking off what the team isn't focusing on. I'll take the shorter game all day errrday.
also, /inb4 snipers with negative score on this codependent system.

I'm sorry but you're wrong. My playstyle is my game. While it may not mesh with yours, that doesn't make it wrong.

I added something to my original post, just so that you don't think I'm attempting to ninja the thread.

And even at Gold or Platinum a Cannibal can be taken down with one shot from a Wraith or Claymore. Again, it seems a little extreme to penalize for that.

I'm not suggesting a perfect system, I'm suggesting a better system by identifying what doesn't work and making an attempt to discurage what things we can identify as not fun for most if not all players.

So OP wants to punish people who can quickly and efficiently clear enemies on their own....

Because he's too slow to hit the spawn point?

Biower, pls. Nerf OP's ability to post.

really? Imagine you were in a bonze game with your most skilled buddies playing there best classes with level 3 amps and level 4 equipment. You were on a level one no equipment using just a shruiken.  How fun would that game be for you? Be honest.

Hey guess what if you like doing things on your OWN you can do something called soloing! That means you start a private match with just you in the game. You're welcome kid!

You don't like playing with a team take the suggestion I made above otherwise do not complain when you are compelled to actualy play with that team you chose to be in!
