Another question, how do you stop people from trolling? I put on adrenaline 3 with a drell and I can spend all day running away. Now your entire team has lower xp because I have negatively affected the team.

Right because the game doesn't allow trolling as it is? ever play hazzard reactor? :pinched:

1 Map that is easily avoidable in both map rotation and situation.
A very substaintial difference, you can control if you get trolled by the reactor, by not going onto that map or not going into the reactor.

What I proposed, the only way you could avoid that is use a drell yourself with adrenaline 3 and follow me around.

That is just 1 of your examples.

I could just missle every non-objective wave. Run away during objective rounds etc.

Ok I see your point, but you could make it so just their own score would be neagative and the team score/xp would be balanced out to counter.

so player 3 has a score of negative 9000, but the other three players are given 3000 each to compensate.

So here is another exploit for you, the negative score player just leaves. Now you just got score for nothing

People are still complaining about Hazard Reactor? The solution is simple: don't stay in there, don't go in there. What is hard about this concept?

I mean, its only a giant reactor with warnings posted everywhere, flashing lights, an automated voice shouting "warning", a system that lets us know its about to close, and huge pulses of electricity going through it?
you make it sound like we should avoid it or something.

okay, guys that's enough.

OP, your idea is very bad. it's very flawed in every aspect of gameplay.
everyone has their own playstyles that are diffrent from each other.
they can choose to work with the team or not.

if they are not working with the team, just simply leave the match and use the player feedback on which player that worked with the team, you can get to find more similar style of players if you do that.

So if you're not having fun anymore, why are you still playing it?

because there are good playerswho still play and  who should be rewarded  not punished for teamplay,

You keep saying teamplay, cooperation, but what you are falling to see is that your idea punish a playstyle, not people that don't cooperate. I can singleshot things and be cooperative, our be far of my team and be cooperative. You want to force people to be cooperative with you playstyle, not to be cooperative. There's a lot of ways to cooperate on this game..

By the way, in a map like london, I'm on the top sniping things before they flank my team, that's is behind the container at the other side of the map, I will be punished for doing that? Isn't that cooperative play? And if my team decide that spliting in two teams is a better aprouch (Jade is a good example where it can happen), what your system will do, punish us all for being separated in two teams?

and what happens if you end a game with overall negative XP?

Does your character lose a level?

Does the game go and unassign points from skills for you?

Is it even keeping track of what your last assigned points were?

No, don't worry, you can go inside, I will just this little button, everything will be just fine..

anyway, Hack inside the reactor, a guy already saved a match by presing the button and killing the whole team inside. It was evil, but it gave us the time to finish the hack...

Why apply negative score at all, why not just stop giving points for solo kills? I would say reduce points for solo kills, but I can't imagine every player would notice that, or even the majority.

edit: Not saying this should be done, but its already an improvement over your suggestion while trying to achieve the goal you set

All systems have flaws, yours is totally flawed and try to achieve something that would take out good things of this game, not add..

No one is punished for teamplay. In fact the current score system rewards for teamplay with higher overall exp. On the other hand, your ideas, if implemented, would punish teamplay in many forms; examples were illustrated by others in the topic.

I think the score system, ON PAPER, is actually quite good, better than on most games. The only things I would say are--

-Assist point calculator is terribly flawed. Sometimes you strip an Atlas of its shields and most of its armor by yourself, only to get a 640-point assist on U/U/G. I said Atlas, but this actually happens more with the other big three (Praetorians, Banshees, Primes). Even if you didn't "kill" the creature, you shouldn't get less than two thirds of the total damage you inflicted on it. E.g, if there's a 2000-point enemy and I took out 75% of its shields/armor, I shouldn't get less than a 1000-point assist when it goes down.

-Revives should give you points, not just revive medals.

-"Saving" a teammate should definitely give you points and count toward a medal. That is, if there's an enemy who's about to kill a teammate of mine and I kill said enemy, I ought to get some extra points for that.

-Headshots should also give you points individually. That'll incentivize me to do headshots even if I know I won't realistically get to the next medal.

another situation, a player fall, I'm the nearest guy so I go to lift him up, but he is surrounded by enemies, so I have to kill them alone in order to lift him up. It's right for punishing me for trying to save another player? Your system basically tell me to let he bleed out, or worse, tell me to go and try to lift him up without killing the enemies, which you know is a bad idea..

Here is a post you started about 2 weeks ago:

thewalrusx wrote...

I think the chief purpose of any game
is to have fun
.  Players usualy play in a way that is fun forthemselves
but it might or it might not be fun for others. Speaking formyself
personaly I would rather make sure all of my teammates were having fun
before I consider my own enjoyment mostly because being in a game were
everyone is having fun is the most enjoyable for me.

That being
said, how can I make the game more fun for you if I am in a lobby with
you? What do you hope and expect players like me would/should do to make
the game more enjoyable?

Do yo feel comfortable expressing thses
desires over the mic in a lobby? How can I foster a lobby environment
that makes you feel welcome to communicate?

I underlined and bolded the first part. You are now (in this thread) dictating to me what you constitute as fun.

Sorry but I can decide what is fun for me all by myself and I don't need any hand holding during your version of fun.

Very well said.

The general idea of making team based play a lot more rewarding is good (such as being the one that solo handles 4 devices or if you stay in the drone circle the entire duration while your team is whoring score), but the suggestions were clumsy to say the least.
