Aim Assist allows console scrubs to press left trigger, then right trigger blindfolded all match to win. It's the ultimate I-WIN in ME3 MP.
Try that 3 times and the best you will get is an Cannibal assist and 2 Swarmer kills. So much better than aiming at a Ravenger, right?

Too often it locks my scope onto an enemy I wasn't even looking at...I hate it...wish I could turn it off...

Things the aim assit search for:
-Sky
-Walls
-Ground
-Ammo Boxes
-LZ
-Hacking Devices
-Pizzas
-Swarmers
Things it doesn't:
-Enemies (besides the Swarmers, of course)

Because ME is a single player experience and the typical single player only gamer just wants a good time without much effort, thus they cater to the casual gamer.darkpassenger2342 wrote...

If ME3 MP wasn't such a success people wouldn't care.

But I agree, the aim assist is a burden more than it is a help. Higher sensitivty would help offset this as well as the fact the when firing weapons, no projeciles actualy leave your weapon. Your shots originate at the centre of the screen, leading to some rather awkward close quarters situations.
Im hoping the next Mass Effect multiplayer is of a higher standard.

I clicked on this thread because I found the use of 'fracking' quite hilarious. (BSG reference?)
Damn right its BSG reference. ;-)
The aim assist does really sucks, for example I aim more or less at banshee head, then scope and instead of point 'almost at head' so I can correct it a little and shoot, it does center it on her body, thats SO wrong.
Maybe the feature exist there because someone at Bioware really sucks at shooting using pad and needs it, if there was option to disable it he would be in bad position.... maybe...
Everytime aim assist is used somewhere one innocent volus is killed, think about it Bioware, just THINK!

What do you see, Horribleplajer?
But yes, aim assit is often more of a burden, but quick scoping body shots with the Javelin is a good way for my newbie friend to contribute/level up I suppose. I don't think he's yet fully grasped how bad it is to see a tiny swarmer in your sights after zooming in, though.

This happens to me all the time. Especially when sniping. I think it may actually targeting an enemy behind a wall way out of sight, similar to how drones & turrets will start shooting at enemies that are off in the distance behind cover.
