Why a headshot multiplier on a gun that has such bad recoil?

I may be wrong, but I thought the real life advantages of burst fire were improving recoil and accuracy (and reducing ammo waste). So why do ME3 burst fire weapons have more recoil than the full-auto weapons? They also have worse accuracy than most of the full-auto assault rifles.

Vindicator, Valkyrie, and Argus can't get more than one headshot per burst without stability mods or aimbot level aiming skills. What advantage does burst fire actually give in ME3? None. Please reduce the recoil of all burst-fire weapons next time. Please?

Agreed. The cons of burst fires are in this game (refire rate), but where are the pros? I think the Valkyrie needs an accuracy buff, but some people seem to think a recoil reduction is warranted too, which should be added with and not instead of an accuracy buff IMO.

I don't understand what's so bad about adding a little damage to the Valkyrie.  Headshot damage is just going to make it a little better at killing mooks, which it was already halfway decent at doing.  Does nothing to fix the fact that it's horrible against boss enemies.  Don't know why anybody thought this would make anybody happy, or get anyone to use the Valkyrie who wasn't using it already.

EDIT:  And I disagree with the assertion that the Valkyrie's problem is that it's hard to level up.  Even at Level X, its damage is inferior to a lot of other guns having the same or even lower weight.

Now you can take the Havoc's weapon damage passives and get the 1000N force needed to stagger a Phantom.

Aside from the Drellguard, he has higher weapon damage bonuses (plus stability) than any Vanguard. I think that's a fine trade off for a combat oriented class to have a weaker power than Vanguards.

Also, dual strike.

Havoc Strike is broken, so these minor tweaks to force and damage hardly matter. The power misses half the time and is totally unreliable. These minor buffs won't change that.

I like the barrier buff. Getting 50k points will be much easier. The scimitar will also be an interesting choice on casters who like to go CQC.

Oh the irony, while the changes dont seem to be that significant I just happend to remove havok strike from my havok turian earlier today and iv spent the better part of my day wooping ass with a weapon platform/high healthshields/debuff cryo centric build.

Not sure the Valkryie is up to where it should be quite yet, but that's a nice start.  That's my first impression, but I'll give it some more testing.  And, of course, I only have a Valkryie I so far.

Still, I'll enjoy the gun.

Good changes, I don't disagree with any of them. Granted, I don't think that the MP's balance is in the right place yet either, but this is definitely a step in the right direction. Scimitar needs further buffs, though.

Right, but the feeling I'm getting and I also agree with is that it needs some more attention be it a small increment of general damage and/or further weight/recoil adjustments. It's like the eagle all over again. It took a few buffs until people started liking it a bit more, and it seemed you guys thought that was fine for ages until it became apparent it wasn't at all. We'd recognised that for a very long time. You really need to take this into consideration. Just hope it isn't the last time the valk is brought to the table

Something that also needs attention is other assault rifles as well. A few need attention and are seriously lacklustre.

The truth is the majority of players on BSN, going by the amount of energy and effort put into a considerable amount of posts regarding buffing / balancing things, cannot help but feel this latest BC is, at best, terribly underwhelming.

Havoc? Ok. If you're into playing him that is.

Scimitar? Honestly...does anyone really care???

Valkyrie? This (sadly) pitifully minor buff does nothing for it, for the level most players currently have it at now.

After such a long wait (the last game-changing BC being before the Xmas break) the last two BCs may best be described as being trivial to the point of being almost completely irrelevant, for most players.

I feel obliged to say I feel disappointed.
And I don't believe I am alone with this sentiment too.

I think it's on the right track—I might spec back into Havoc Strike on my Turian Cryo Soldier.

I do think Fagnan and the rest of the gameplay team need to take a closer look at the mechanics around burst-fire weapons. There's a reason players tend to shun them. And each burst weapon probably needs a different tincture.

Also: lawl at the Scimitar buff. That gun was already at a good weight, it needs ammo and damage.

Cool. Will have to take Havoc out for some spins. I'm one of those weirdos who likes the Valkyrie, even at low level (emmm... on a Destroyer that is). I'll be interested to see how it performs now and when it levels up - if it doesn't get a nerf by the time I get it to a respectable level :P

2 weeks for such a balance change... I expected more. Though Havoc strike buff is... Well, I should try now.
However, I really believe that collector SMG should be buffed before other guns. Or make collector SMG classified as Gold SMG.
