I do like the paladin as a pocket sniper on my volus. scope + heavy barrel + drill routs + recon mine for that delicious wallhax.but other than that I see no reason to use it

IMO I like the Carnifex better.

also wtf are you talking about, the saber is beast, the indra is a good gun on certain classes but maybe is the weakest between the URs
i don't have the collector's smg so i can't tell about that

I would like to officially withdraw my vote for the CSMG. I've tried it out again, and this thing is beastly at VI. Headshots like you wouldn't believe.

I go Harrier/BW on that. UR = add a good twist to the weapon family that makes it take an unique role in a match. Harrier and BW are boring DPS monsters. Meh.

I don't think there are any real bad ones anymore, but here are mine. These generally are objectivly bad, just outclassed by other guns that are similar.

Typhoon - There is pretty much zero reason to use this over  PPR, which is more accurate and has a much larger multiplier after spin up.
Fix- remove the spin up time, which would make it actually useful.


Valkaryie - It's a mattock that fires slower but does more damage, so the DPS is about the same. Oh, and it's quite a bit heavier.
Fix - make it weigh the same as a mattock

Saber - It's basicly the same as a crusader, but does less damager per shot.
It has a bigger clip...but both fire so slowly that it doesn't matter much. 
Saber takes longer to reload than the crusader.
Saber is ligher...but not enough to actually matter as it is still to heavy for casters.
The final problem is that AR mods suck, while the shotgun ones don't. (the AR heavy barrel is kinda pointless)
Fix - if nothing else, the reload should be sped up. A minor ROF buff would also help (80->100)

Valiant - it's another gun that, while not really bad...it outclassed by others in the same class.
It's basicly a lighter, weaker BW.   The problem is....that's never useful.
It's still to heavy for casters and the Indra beats it as a "light" SR.  For casters, you can often just use a Paladin, which does basicly the same damage anyway.
Fix -  Lighten it to be similar to the Indra.  We need another light SR that is actaully worth firing anyway.

ALT: Keep the weight the same, but increase the clip size alot.  Double at least, and I would start with 9.  This way, it can actually take out mooks on gold without reloading or being an infiltrator.  It would give it a different role at least.


I don't think those guns actually bad, just alll noticably inferior to other guns in the same role.

If you're on PC, it might be not that bad, because of the EZ headshots, but on console, it just doesn't do that well, especially on a non-weapon oriented class. And I'd like some of that drugs that you're on, when you mentioned the Javelin.


Yeah you see there's your problem. Expect a Saber to do as well on a Adept/ Vanguard or engineer as a Soldier or Infiltrator.

Lol, someone needs to learn to headshot. And yes I am on a console as well. Saber/ Indra on a Turian sol. with mrksman gives you +55% headshot damage + and increased rate of fire with almost no recoil. On a ghost you don't even have to try, HS Adrenaline rush 70% extra damage. Devestator, MQS..... actually I'm wondering how you haven't got either of these weapons to work on any weapons class, you don't even have to aim for the head for them to be effective.

For me it's going to be the CSMG, the Hurricane trumps it, I've little reason to use it. A close second is the Paladin. It's not a bad weapon per se, but compared to the Talon it doesn't hit as hard up close, yet weighs more that the Carnifex and is more difficult to lvl up, with a lower rate of fire and reserve ammo. 



I was about to say Indra, but I never even thought about using it with the TSol.  I'll get on that when I get off work.

The 3 worst imo in order from least bad, to worst.

Paladin: If I wanted a lighter weapon that's better at CQC, I'd use my talon. If I wanted to snipe, I'd use a valiant, and not have to give up piercing or a barrel for the scope for a very minor weight increase (I have paladin, valiant, and talon at X). The paladin is flexable in the 'jack of all trades, master of none' sense, but as such, it doesn't compliment alot of guns, and feels redundant with quite a few of them. Namely sniper rifles, which out of all gun categories, is more likely to need/want a secondary weapon compared to for example, most assault rifles. Much like a paladin in WoW up to the 3rd expansion, It feels too gimmicky, and redundant in setups, and really deserves the extra shot in its clip back, though that might not fix it.

Indra: Easier to compare it to ARs than SRs, and is subject to 'the harrier is better' syndrome like most of the AR category.

Valkyrie: If you have a mattock, (which is an uncommon weapon!) you're not missing much about this AR if anything at all. Also subject to 'the harrier is better' syndrome.

It was torture finishing the challenge for the valkyrie.
Javelin is very powerful, but too slow.
CSMG for reload pain
