Name one choice in ME1 or ME2 that you wanted to see consequences for (but didn't).

I would have loved to see the Rachni send ground troops to overrun some Reaper defensive line in Earth, allowing Shepard to break through to the conduit run.

I would have loved to see quarians without a helm with detail in Rannoch after the ending, even if not Tali (I would have obviously prefered Tali, though).

After she was one of my main squaddies in ME2, I would have loved to see a bit more of Kasumi, I hated how she just became 25 points to the war effort.

I do remember an interview between a gaming site and someone from Bioware about how they did not want our choices to nullify content like in some games (think Witcher 2 Act 2). I believe this mentality really hindered their handling of the choices in Mass Effect 3.

Yeah, I don't think it was the right decision. After all who are the people who'd realize they were missing content? The same exact people who do multiple playthroughs making different decisions anyway (hardcore fans). Casuals won't care.

there are so many its difficult to pinpoint which one

and it blows my mind that before me3 was released I did not expect bioware to answer hardly any of them.

How about Council's fate? Collector base? Rachni? You know, major choices.

There were a lot of smaller things I'd have wished to play a role or at least get mentioned in ME3 that didn't. I'd likely have been as disappointed about the lack of these smaller things, but would just as likely have said "ah well, they can only do so much", if they did a good job job with the "big ones". In my eyes they did not.

There's this ME2 side mission about sensitive info that Cerberus wouldn't want to be publicized, and as you're about to complete it you have the choice to either hand the data back to Cerberus, give it to the Alliance, or keep it for yourself. I always kept it because I didn't trust Cerberus 100%, and EDI tells you that its heavily encrypted and would take time to crack. I was hoping it would be addressed in ME3.

I would also have liked to know what the outcome of Ish's info gathering of Aria would do to her rule of Omega.

The outcome of Sidonis being spared would've been nice to know as well.

Duuudee,, (or Dudette) you got many cool ideas..

1. The outcome of destroying/saving the Collector base. (This could have decided if you where Cerburus or Alliance in the third game)
I'm totally with you on this one. I'm an Alliance fan, but I think it'll be interesting if you got to pick sides in ME3. If Cerberus, you'd get to work with TIM, KL will be in your roster. Strive for human dominance where in the end, you can either support TIM to be Reaper Overlord or sabotage his work.

2. Zaeed fighting Paragon Shepard. (Because you fail to kill Vido)
Made sense, but I like ME3 Zaeed :P so I'd have to scratch on this one.

3. Samara fighting Renegade Shepard. (Too many anti-justicar actions)
Can see this happening. But then again, the Reapers are a bigger threat that must be dealt first compared to Renegade Shep

4. Fighting Miranda if you left Cerburus.
Interesting idea,, though I love her resignation speach in ME2 when I blew up the CB and she is my Shep's BFF (if she's LI maybe you can persuade her to join you instead)

Fighting Ash/Kaiden if you stayed with Cerburus.
Yup. And make them more amicable if you blew up the CB :P if you're in Cerberus' side and if they're LI, have an option to make them join your side.

-sigh- if BW made a reboot with these implemented, I'd buy it -__-

Kai Leng as a squadmate? Given the way ME3 is, that's quite a twist...

Apart from a Kai Lang sqaudmate, I like these ideas. Zaeed and Samara shouldn't fight opposing morality Shepards, but maybe a snarky/scolding comment or two would suffice during dialogue.

The lack of choice impact was one of the biggest downfalls of ME3.

Collector Base - This really should have had huge repercussions.

Maelons Data - The genophage should have been incurable without it.

Geth Heretics - This should have been disastrous for the Quarians.

Rachni - Yet again this could of had big bonuses or punishment.

I just feel like the team was too scared for punishing players for making the wrong choices which caused the right choices to feel very unsatisfying and have very little impact.

I wish Cerberus was handled better in ME3. What I wanted, is the opportunity to choose a different path in ME3.

What I wanted to see: If Shepard was hostile towards the Illusive Man all the time in ME2 and destroyed the Collector base, he would be recruited back into the Alliance in ME3, If Shepard was friendly to the Illusive Man and kept the Collector base, he would stick with Cerberus in ME3. Or something like that.

It could have been done in the same way as CD Projekt RED did in The Witcher 2.

Oh, if only...

I agree with you. Check out my post on page 3 of this thread.

I would also have liked to see a different ME3 path where you side with cerberus.

If you saved the collector base at the start of the game the illusive man would approach you and ask if you wanted to continue work with him to stop the reapers and save humanity, if you chose yes then you would have access to a few extra missions during the game and secretly  work for the TIM whilst on the normandy and use alliance resources to assist him.

I would have like the Collector Base choice play more of a role (as mentioned by several people throughout the thread). Cerberus forces could have been stronger or weaker depending on your choices.

Kill or Save the Council, I wish they could have played up the difference in how the two goverments and public opinion about humanity worked.

Really I thought that most the other stuff was prety inconsequential , and I understand that they probably choose to take the route they did so that the game didn't beomce unbearably huge because of all the decisions. Still kind of annoying.

If you charmed or intimidated during Jack and Miranda's fight. I'd have liked to see a mission in wich they were together and if you made peace between them, they worked together, and if not, the one who you haven`t chosen doesnt save the one you've chosen from being killed, letting her die. Or maybe kills her.

Damn, it's really hard to choose just one. I guess the rachni. ME1 and ME2 hinted at you being able to call upon the rachni against the Reapers.

In ME3, Shepard's craptastic auto-dialog says [incorrectly] that the rachni were supposed to run away and hide forever. What the hell was that garbage? Then, the rachni queen somehow came under Reaper control yet again. And then even though you gain her as an ally, you still have to fight swarms of ravagers after that mission.

And then came the final insult. The rachni are worth a measly 100 points, and they only work on the Crucible! They don't give you any shock troops or military spacecraft (remember the "ancient rachni ship profiles" line in ME2)!  You're telling me I sacrificed Arlakh Company and put my reputation on the line for THAT?

I want to know who wrote the rachni for ME3 (or more importantly, who was in charge of that), because they REALLY dropped the ball. Hard.

These plus the decisions regarding the council in ME1.

Whether or not to save the rachni and the fate of the council. The rachni choice literally made no difference either way, and the council offered different dialogue with copy-pasted versions of the old council and Udina on there no matter what you chose. What happened to my human council? Most playthroughs I save the council anyways, but the choice should still feel like it matters.

Saving Sidonis. I wanted a heroic death to atone for his sins.

Then the story ended at the end of ME2. You can't import a file where Shepard died.
