I'd like to know this as well. I'd be curious if anyone at Bioware enjoyed the Quest for Glory games (weekly plug quote met).

Oh, and i'd ask the Cinematic Designers how they got on the path to become a Cinematic Designer like what they majored in in college. Also, i'd ask what exactly their job consists of. I really want to get a career in the game industry so i'd like to know.

I've got a BA with a major in English Literature and a minor in Film Studies. Honestly, for the longest time, I wanted to be a writer - I've always had a fairly good grasp of language and thought it would be an ideal fit for me. But after working with the Cinematic Design team on ME2, I realized that what I wanted wasn't necessarily to write, but to tell stories - and my current role allows me to do that.

Lately, my job has been more oriented towards coordinating with other departments to find new ways to tell story with environments and outside of the standard conversation/cutscene system - pushing as much narrative into gameplay and the player experience as we can. It's a pretty varied job, at least here - we do a lot more than cutscenes and conversations, especially nowadays.

Thanks for the answer! Your job sounds awesome!:)

To the writers, where do you get your inspiration from? From seeing other peoples' work, yeah, but what are you favourite sources for inspiration? Who inspires you the most? What genre is your favourite?

Aside from the games you worked on with Bioware. Are there any games(past or present) that you would've liked to of been involved with?

I would have loved to be involved in development for STALKER - Shadow of Chernobyl or Call of Pripyat. I think it would have been a pretty fascinating development process to be involved with.

Thanks for answering.Image IPB

I would pose this to all of the DA devs/employees who wish to answer... what was the first game you played/owned?

Mine was Race - Spinout on the Odyssey 2.

First game I remember playing was Lode Runner.

Yes.  Space Quest and Police Quest for myself (and Black Cauldron).  My favourite series was police quest (in part because when I was younger I thought police officers were cool and I wanted to be one).

I watch almost no TV, but off the top of my head shows I really enjoyed:

Modern Family (closest thing to "current" I guess)
South Park
Futurama

Used to be a big fan of Simpsons but haven't consistently watched for probably 15-16 years.

More of a movie person myself.

Question for the Writing Team: Will we ever get to explore another era of Thedas, someday? I'm quite curious about this.

I know this could be answered from a simple Google search... but is Edmonton on the Daylight Savings system? Is any/all of Canada? Does it follow the same schedule as seen in the States?

And, if yes to any and all of those things... what are your feelings on it?

Will practicing blood magic ever get a mage protagonist called out in future games? In DAO no one ever seemed to notice that you tossed people around with blood magic. In DA2 it was even more absurd, because for some reason Hawke felt the need to impale himself on his staff every fifteen seconds; which I'm pretty sure most people would notice.

Why?  Because it's too "mainstream?"

It's a common answer for good reason.

Most of Canada does.

I'm indifferent to it since I've lived with it my whole life.

How difficult is it to program a piece of software that can be ported to multiple platforms? I would think that having to cater to so many different operating systems and hardware configurations it would be chaotic.
