I wanna know if any of the devs were fans of the Sierra quest games and which was their favorite.

Yes.  Space Quest and Police Quest for myself (and Black Cauldron).  My favourite series was police quest (in part because when I was younger I thought police officers were cool and I wanted to be one).

What's the devs favorite TV shows?

I watch almost no TV, but off the top of my head shows I really enjoyed:

Modern Family (closest thing to "current" I guess)
South Park
Futurama

Used to be a big fan of Simpsons but haven't consistently watched for probably 15-16 years.

More of a movie person myself.

welp I am so disapointed. That's such a boring answer

Why?  Because it's too "mainstream?"

It's a common answer for good reason.

I know this could be answered from a simple Google search... but is Edmonton on the Daylight Savings system? Is any/all of Canada? Does it follow the same schedule as seen in the States?

And, if yes to any and all of those things... what are your feelings on it?

Most of Canada does.

I'm indifferent to it since I've lived with it my whole life.

LOL Allan, you are quite the little Kickstarter slattern!

I have only backed 3 games actually (Wasteland 2, Project Eternity, and now Torment 2), and it's not like my contributions are of the particularly huge variety either.

There are more at work that have contributed to more products (and probably greater sums) than I.

In general I'd say there's a good number of us very excited about many of the games coming out from the Kickstarters.

Here is one to any of the devs:

What was a personal accomplishment or something you were proud of doing in DA:I or one of the other titles in the series?

Ask me again when DA:I ships :P

Thus far? I was pretty happy with my solution to getting the player and party down the stairs when Bartrand locks them in. The player slid down the railing of the staircase, which was about a dozen animations squashed together, and it looked pretty decent.

I helped port over a conversation tester from DAO that allowed for easy testing of each lines for localization purposes, that could also be used for cinematics testing (in multiple languages as well).

It was insufficient to simply go through all dialogue lines (especially when cinematic testing), so it required some creative tree traversing that effectively utilized a depth-first search for populating a list for what order to test the conversation lines in.

As this was hardcoded to specifically play a particular conversation line, it meant that typical plot requirements (who's in my party, etc.) could be ignored. It just required the tester to spawn in the required NPCs, as well as be in the correct level.

Given how much interaction I had with localization teams, it certainly seemed to help them with their testing.

That felt pretty cool.

Just my outside opinion here, but... the only questions devs are answering in this thread are not DA-related at all. The reason your questions are likely not getting answered is because they are spoiler-related. They aren't ready to talk about the game - either in DA3 or any other future titles.

Questions that are getting answered are "How did you get your job," "What was your first car?" and "do you tan well?"

Questions that have nothing to do with the DA series or its production.

It's tough for me to answer much about the content for this reason.  Plus there's nothing stopping it from changing at this point (depending on the question).

DA stuff such as details about my job and whatnot are a bit easier to answer.

And to step on the landmine...

Do you like Dragon Age 2?

Yes.  (Kaboom!)

I'm about as biased of a source as there possibly can be on the game, however.

Unlikely.  I played WoW for a long time, as well as some TOR, and unless Elder Scrolls Online does something particularly remarkable, I just feel I have MMO burnout.

Good point.

It's important to note that how a developer looks at his own work is going to be different than a fan.  While a fan may look at something and say "That was lazy/poor/whatever" there's a good chance that the dev that worked on it looks at it and goes "Look at all those flaws.  I could have done better."

By a counterpoint, while a fan may look at something and say "That was awesome!" there's a good chance that the dev that worked on it looks at it and goes "Look at all those flaws. I could have done better."

DA2 has its flaws for sure.  It's not a perfect game.  What some may see, as an outside observer, as intrinsically poor, I'll more often see as "issue with execution" because I'm privy to the concepting, enthusiasm, and so forth behind a particular idea that can influence how I look at something.  Fans don't have this perspective, so they can only judge purely based on what is actually delivered (which is entirely fair).

But despite DA2's flaws, and some other extra incentives (such as it being my first full game), I'm still proud of my contribution and the work we did on DA2.  I recognize there was a fair bit of negative reception, however, and would love to make a game that turns skeptics/doubters into full on fans of DA3.  It's a challenge and helps keep enthusiasm.

I got in by applying to BioWare as a contract QA Tester.

I was able to strengthen by application by having a Computing Science degree, which let them use me in more technically minded ways (rather than general playtester).  I did a good enough job between the end of DAO and start of DA2 that when my contract was expiring, I was deemed "valuable" and they offered me a permanent position.

Now I drink tears of fans and sit on my hands enjoying the life of affluence and decadence, all the while doing a minimal amount of work while reading the forums for my own personal amusement.

If you dont mind the logical observation, its the only perspective that matters when you sell a product?

Someone is asking me if I like DA2. I'm pretty much admitting that my opinion as to whether or not I like it is irrelevant because I'll never see it the same way as a customer does.

I grew up around Edmonton. I spent Kingergarten through Grade 5 in the city, and then the next 13 years about 30 minutes west just outside of a small town called Stony Plain.

Hmm, I think coke or pepsi has been done so I will go with... what is your favourite movie involving an aquatic villain?

Mustang. But to be fair it came much later in the war (and without the Merlin engine wasn't as awesome, so the Spitfire is still pretty awesome)

THANK YOU!

The last argument I had on the internet regarding this was with a guy who refused to believe it was due to the upgrades that made the P-51 a good plane (an equal, in my eyes).  He was adamant that the P-51 was far superior than a Spitfire, simply because it used American fuel,

P.S - Huge Spitfire fan.

Without going tooooooooooooo far off on this tangent (I'm a big WW2 buff), they were used for different purposes.  The Mustang had the range, and was developed later, but the Spitfire whooped serious butt defending the Island (with the Hawker Hurricane).

I like the Mustang's versatility (range, can be a fighter bomber, etc) but few planes could turn like the Spitfire.  If you're slugging it out in a dogfight and range isn't an issue, can't go wrong with it!  Haha.

The way I saw it, the Hurricane and Spitfire held the fort for the first several years of the war, while US R&D (which didn't have to deal with strategic bombing) had the time to deliver things like the P-47 and P-51 to help deliver the knockout punch.

Someone showed me this fun music video just the other day actually haha:
