As a fellow strategy gamer, I like you more and more Mr Gaider.

Who will be writing the characters for DA:I and how many? Specifically how much are David Gaider and Mary Kirby invovled? I adore their characters in DA:O and DA2.

I'd ask: what baby did you most resent having to kill during development? :innocent:

I'd ask: Why was the decision made to use another human protagonist? If the question has been answered already, anyone know??

Boxers or briefs?

Oh wait...does this have to be about video games? Hrm. Just one? Really? Fine.

Does Cullen wear boxers or briefs?

If I had to be serious, I guess I'd ask whether or not they enjoy putting relationships (friendships and romance) in the games. *I* really enjoy the relationships and romances, but I've heard that they can be a real pain. The poor guys in the MEs really seemed to struggle (ME1 romance was a little painful and let's not get started on the whole Jacob thing... :P), but the DA romances just seemed to flow. And in DA we got to make some pretty good friendships (as with Liara in ME), but it seemed like DA2 cut us back a little - there was less quality time (like the relationships in ME).

Are they really that hard to write? Do they take that much time or a lot of resources? Okay, that's two more questions, but they're really just a part of the original one. :D

I think it's two reasons mainly, judging by developer's previous posts. Firstly, story: would Mass Effect for example work if you played as an alien? Given that part of the storyline is Shepard's effect on the political and social fortunes of the human race in particular, it wouldn't really work if Shepard was anything other than human. Allan Schumacher has said that being a human will have some direct bearing on the story in DA3. Secondly, it's a question of resources: animating different character models, with height variances, for cutscenes is apparently a pretty expensive procedure.

If you could only take five video games with you to a desert island to play for the rest of your life, what would they be?

Assuming there's no Internet connection for an MMO, it'd be:

X-COM (the new one... or X-Com: Apocalypse, if I had to choose)
Civilization IV
Victoria 2
Hearts of Iron 2
Saints Row 3

As a follow-up, are you making a game that you think should belong in that list?

Ignoring the fact I personally can't play our own games after release (as by that point, I've played it to death and beyond-- there's no mystery at all for me), the answer would still be no-- I enjoy RPG's a great deal, but I play them once only for the story and then I'm done. No matter how immensely I enjoyed the game, if I'm stuck on a desert island I want something to keep me occupied. ;)

Saints Row 3! Mr.Gaider you are awesome!:D

My silly question is what was the thinking behind having Alistair's appearance change so drastically as well as the Elves in general. It really bugged me and I am genuinely curious

Writing Department:

Why have you chosen to follow the path of generic human protagonist as opposed to a rich choice in races as seen in Dragon Age: Origins considering it's success and positive feedback regarding variation?

And if I was allowed a follow-up question:

Is this an attempt to distance yourself from Bethesda & Elder Scrolls by restricting race types and instead following an EA "norm"?

Also, I'd ask the writers questions. I'd ask what they have in store for Morrigan in future games?

The department doesn't matter for my question.

I'd ask them, "How does it feel to live in the same city as Edmontonian of 2012, Mark Meer?"

Bitter and jealous.

Oh look, you're commander shepard so you're all cool.  Where's my love huh!?  HUH!  I totally helped lead a beginner Rec volleyball team from bottom of the standings to championship contender within a year!  I donate blood!  Totally rigged!!!  Just because I don't have an Omni-Tool, or sell myself out to every store on the Citadel!!!

:crying::crying::crying:

There, there Allan. Your time will come to shine one day!

This is a question anybody who can answer: Am I going to be forced to pick a side in the Mage-Templar war? If so, goodbye.

I'd ask "Why do you hate elves so much?!"

(And no, I'm not referring to the second-class citizen status of elves in Thedas. I'm referring to the fact that the elven LIs have received the less recognition and time in DLC/expansions between both games than the human ones, and the fact that apparently somehow elves are incapable of achieving Protagonist Status anymore.)

hmm... one question. I'll ask a not too serious one.

Which Dragon Age character could you see yourself getting along with the best?

Unless you're partial to staying on the fence, in which case, maybe farewells aren't needed.

I'm not sure why you'd ask the writers that. It's not our decision to make. It's primarily a design decision based on resources, though I'm not personally opposed to it. Having more race options is nice (and fans appreciate having more options for anything, period), but hardly essential to a good story.

Is this an attempt to distance yourself from Bethesda & Elder Scrolls by restricting race types and instead following an EA "norm"?

Err... no. Mike Laidlaw has indicated he'd like to get back to more races later, if it's possible and appropriate for the project.

Do you even lift?
Cake or death?

But seriously, if I could pick just one question, it'd probably be how much do you enjoy your job (especially directed towards the writing team, I enjoy writing in spare time and have always wanted to write a full novel even if just for myself, currently stuck at short stories but mostly poetry.)

Another question, will there be more, new (or not) awesome, badass female characters? I kinda want to have another Genevieve or Evangeline or a non-crazy Meredith or someone like Anora. Yanno, strong, competent, possibly sword wielding lady folks who are not companions. I really, really enjoy DA ladies. I want more.

(Maker willing, Cassandra will be back for DA:I)

If there was a game I'd want them to make a modern version of, Alpha Centauri would be the one.

Nope. We don't like strong female characters, none of us. Total sausage-fest ahoy. :)
