Everyone complains about the difference of on-host and off-host, but you do have teammates... Let them plug a few in her then if you feel you can't as the host. This is a team game. Only a soloer should have a problem with on-host phantoms, and which I already said they have it tough and I don't mean anything against them.

For the rest of us, we have 4 players that can work as a team and easily dominate.

Its still not reasonable for the host to be so hampered by that, though. Stunlock and SKs are not unfair, but could be considered cheap and poor game design. The host phantom DR glitch isn't just poor design, it's also simply unfair (in this case, to the host since the effect isn't even between all players and there's nothing they can do to avoid it w/o placing undue restrictions on them for no reason other than that they are the host- ones that aren't asked of anyone else)- that's why its different and shouldn't be lumped w/ the other complaints.

Hey you, the guy complaining about how unbalanced this game is and how sync-kills are cheap!

I am sick of hearing you whine about sync-kills and phantoms. Do you not not understand the basic mechanics of this game? If you wouldn't charge in with a Krogan or biotic charge that glowing banshee, then you wouldn't die bro. Sync-kills aren't cheap, you need them or vanguards would dominate multiplayer, or Krogan headbutts would fly like Southwest Airlines. The rest of us who know how to play, can easily handle a banshee or even a phantom's sync-kill. You stay away from them!!

that phantom DR is not a difficult me mechanic to overcome, when she does her bubble, she doesn't do anything else. Instead of constant fire, hold up bro and stare at her a second before you throw that grenade, after a moment she drops shields but won't move until she does. See that trooper behind her? Plug his dumb head with a few bullets til that phantoms shield drops and you can continue to ravage her.

Finally stun-lock. For all of you that complain of stunlock, you better be soloing. The only mercy I have here is for Soloers who have to move. For the rest of us in a squad, get your fat head behind cover (and I don't mean soft cover). You remember that wall you hopped over to stand in front of that prime? You should of stayed behind it. If you are in hard cover, learn those prime shots and time your fire. Try coordinating with your team instead of silently ignoring them like you somehow can handle that flood of synthetics creeping up on you.

yes, jedi master, i want to learn more.

So bad game design and buggy mechanics are acceptable because this is a team game? And the Phantom being nearly invulnerable to the point of being more durable than an Atlas is fine because this is co-op?

LOL. I hope you don't become a game developer.

look, when i host and it's against cerberus, i literally leave the phantoms to my teammates to deal with. isn't this the true meaning of co-op?

but really, i'm always upset when on-host i claymore the phantom in the face and she...just lives on.

Wrong, you wait for them to be incapable of sync-killing(Brute's eyes stop glowing, Banshee uses Warp, ALTAS fires Rocket, Scion fires cannon etc.) It's not difficult to avoid sync-kill whilst getting into close quarters, you just need to know priming events and what de-primes them.

that phantom DR is not a difficult me mechanic to overcome, when she does her bubble, she doesn't do anything else. Instead of constant fire, hold up bro and stare at her a second before you throw that grenade, after a moment she drops shields but won't move until she does. See that trooper behind her? Problem with that is... it isn't a mechanic... Phantom on host with her bubble up will take about 4 bars of "damage"  (the purple shade just becomes slightly lighter...) from a Claymore Headshot. Off-host a Phantom with her Bubble up will die in one shot from a Claymore Headshot.

Finally stun-lock. For all of you that complain of stunlock, you better be soloing. The only mercy I have here is for Soloers who have to move. Interesting thnig is that it isn't the Prime or the Scion who kills me. I did a solo Gold Collectors and the ONLY times I died were when a bloody Abomination respawned RIGHT ON TOP OF ME (yay for screwed up spawn system!) and instantly grabbed me. Fun fact - The Geth Turret kills more people than the Prime does and the Geth Combat Drone has a better stagger. Yup... Besides the issue isn't with balance, or difficulty, hell Geth are relatively ****** easy to fight against (even without hiding behind a counter) they are just so damn annoying to fight against, I have never enjoyed a single Geth game except once when me and a couple of friends did a Kroguard Melee Game after he was made super-stagger resistant.

The problem with stunlock and Phantom DR isn't that they are hard to overcome it's just that the "mechanic" doesn't add any true challenge to the game, it just makes the game last longer and is a tedious process. There is no way (other than hiding behind a house-worth of concrete) to combat stunlock, you just can't, I believe you might be able dodge the first Prime cannon but the other will always hit you before you finish recover from the roll or dodge.. There is a zero requirement of skill to finish a Geth Gold game (that is exactly why Firebase White/Geth/Gold was such an attractive farming setup) and literally anything you do (such as hide behind cover) isn't skillbase. You can easily dodge a Banshee warp or use a power to force a Phantom bubble up (off-host) or run toward a Scionj to get him to melee or blow a Praetorian's skullplate off or blow an ATLAS's crotch plate, shoulderguards or kneeguards off. Nothing you do (except shoot the Pyro tank, which is pointless anyways)requires any knowledge about the game. (Note that knowledge does not equal skill, any player can shoot an ATLAS's Shoulderguard off and accidentally stagger him).

I was hosting UUG games last night. Played a couple as a Drellguard, Phoenixguard...no worries, easily handle Phantoms if Cerb came up (didn't). Switched to TSol work on weapon challenges, decided to pack my Carnifex and Hornet. Forget to account for getting Cerb (aka no Scorpion). Get Cerb.

Teammates die leaving me to solo in wave 9. I run around Vancouver like a madman, trying to kill two Phantoms. Horrible, painful experience for everyoneImage IPB

looks like he'll need it, I see some people with flamers and incendiary IV's

also, OP, you said get behind cover, to keep from farming bioware implemented anti cover units, good luck bieng in cover for long, on a different note, the time stun lock is bothersome at the MOST, is reviving/objectives can become impossible, and you end up with a pile of dead players, either way enjoy the fire, may the spirits be merciful on you

The gist of the persons post is correct. sync kills happen 95% of the time because the player made a mistake. There are the very rare cases of a banshee teleporting through a wall and down a level to grab you but most often it is player error that causes it.

OP's manifest indicates that he is predominantly a Silver player who occasionally ventures into Gold.

lolz how so? I regularly play gold. I have been playing since release so yes I have played bronze, silver, gold, and platinum. I don't missile glitch, or use exploits. I worked my way up legitimately from bronze to gold earning my manifest.

And you have plenty of silver waves but not that many gold waves. Meaning you play Silver at least as much as you play Gold.

of course I have played silver before. I started on bronze and plenty of those waves too. How does that mean I only play silver?

I never said you play only silver.

lol. No it isn't. Most of the time, particularly off-host, it's complete BS due to this game having atrocious netcode.

Feeble excuses for people that make errors and then blame it on other things.  And I don't count a bunch of lag as a a valid reason to complain about sync kills.

Almost without exception every time I have been sync'd I feel I have made an error.  Not backing out of range fast enough, not being situationally aware, trying to squeeze that last shot in on another opponent.

I don't really think sync-kill is BS.
There's no way you would get sync-killed unless you're standing damn close to them, with an exception of banshee.

Exactly reminds me of all the magnetic sync kill complaints I used to hear and I'll admit I used to complain about it too. Then I realized it was because I got close enough for it to happen and the signal for the animation was just delayed so every time it happened it was really my fault

I estimate about 80% of my sync kills being down to banshees teleporting through walls.

your second video demonstrates my rage. While you wasted time playing party cake with phantom, other mobs closed in. (Also why I have mercy for solo players. It's hard, that is obvious ). When you throw a power, that is her defense. Everytime you cast overload, boom: shield. Instead, aim at her without casting power. Far less likely to throw up a shield.

Seriously ? You want an answer to that ?

Because, as host, the "other mobs" AREN'T A F****** PROBLEM !

Same thing here.
More than 80% time sync kills happen to me is: Banshee came up from nowhere and perform a sync kill within 2 seconds.

Don't think the OP realised what Phatom DR was. That video with her taking a full clip from a Typhoon X Geth Trooper really should've been the end of the thread.
