Ok, I know we all love biotics, but I have 3 questions about them. Keep in mind, there is a difference between gameplay and lore. I'm asking lore-related questions. an example to the differences are: in lore, shields don't stop melee, but in gameplay they do. Anyway, here goes.
1) About the biotic barriers: OK, they can stop high velocity objects. But do they work like kinetic barriers? As in, they only stop high velocity objects? And either way, if it's created by the user, could it be adjusted? Could he make it that almost any object with a low velocity van't come through? Even further: could the user make it that other biotics can't enetrate his biotic barrier?
2) How fast do biotics travel (+ what is their range?) In ME1, biotics hit right away, as long as the target was in range. In ME2 and 3, there was a biotic 'bubble' or 'thing' that traveled from your hand to the target. But your allies' biotics hit immediately. I also think that in the Paragon Lost movie you see something 'travel'. So what is it? My guess is that it is a pretty fast thing that goes through the air, but does nayone know for sure? And how far can they go while still having an effect? I am guessing that it looses power the further they go (think of the biotic god from ME2)
3) How would a biotic 'activate' his powers? Would you do an exact hand movement, or 'feel' it or something? Would it be like having an extra arm?
Anyone have ideas?

1) I'd say barriers would be able to stop anything. However, I think another biotic could bypass a biotic barrier. At the very least they can disrupt it to land their intended attack.
2) I like to use ME1 as my reference for this. They are instant and have no travel time. In 2 and 3 they added animation and distance to make the detonation mechanics work (and rule of cool).
3) I think this comes with practice, and each biotic will have their own way of focusing on doing a specific action. Some might need to use hand movements or a specific routine, while some might only need to use their minds. I'd imagine their is some type of 'feel' too it, but I don't think its ever expanded upon.

1) As this is a non-spoiler section I won't go into details, but at one point in ME2 your biotic team mates create a bubble that keeps a certain type of enemy away from the team, however the team members can still leave the bubble. The enemies in question move pretty fast, but I don't think they could be classified as high velocity. Since the biotic throw can have a kinetic impact on stationary objects, I don't think that biotic barriers work in the same manner as kinetic ones.
2) Hmm, it's been a while but I thought that biotics took a while to hit in ME1, at least when used by the enemies attacking the team, but I might be wrong.
3) My guess would be that it works the way you described it, like having an extra limb. Although additional gestures could be used as means of focusing or directing the power, they are probably not necessary.
Anyway, these are just my thoughts, I wonder what people whose knowledge of ME lore is fresher than mine will have to say

You're right, and for me to forget that WHILE playing ME1. But that was only the enemies. Shepard and squad hit right away.
