It might not be kid, but this thing is clearly not "The Intelligence" either. It claims that it started reaping to prevent rebelling synthetics killing all organic life in the galaxy.
Given the size of galaxy and undeniable existence of organic life prior to appearance of the savior "The Intelligence" and its peaceful solutions i would say that it is broken crazy AI with lack of any real intelligence.

The Catalyst has a great deal of power over everyone in this thread. As does BioWare. People are upset that something they see as stupid or wrong has power over them, so they (dishonestly) attempt to trivialize and dismiss him. Hence the insults and name-calling. The person they're trying to convince is themselves.

pfft butterflies are mega-powerful and all, but clearly the best tactic is to utilize the mighty mosquito to take advantage of the reapers partially organic nature. we send them in swarms to bypass the reapers' shields with their small size, infiltrate their hull and feast on the organic part of the reaper, which they need. for some reason.

actually what practical purpose does the organic part of a reaper serve again?

A lot of people try to dismiss his credibility by calling him "the kid" when he only appeared like that so he would be non-threatening to Shepard. This symbolizes that he was never interested in war, but finding a peaceful solution that works for everyone.

Catalyst has no power over me. I MEHEMed it out of existance.
Division of EA labeled Bioware - well ,they clearly have the power over their franchise and this forum. Their decisions and actions also influence me more then the opposite but it does not mean that Bioware has real power over my opinions and future actions.
