Starbinger. Also, don't tell me what to do, MOM. I don't live with you anymore.

His name is The Intelligence. You guys are manipulating everything he's done to make it seem bad. Everything he's done, he did it for the good of all organics and synthetics alike. If you can't see that and choose to call him "The Starchild" or some other variant, I think that's just choosing to live in delusion.

Of course, Everybody hates the Starbrat but clearly you are the only one capable of seeing the artistic genius behind it so everybody who hates him is delusional and you, The 1 person who understands is obviously right...

There are quite a few other visionaries on this forum who see the light actually. Seival chief among them.

Oh, this one provides understanding now.  The OP is a joke, right?

The final convo should have been between Shepard and Harbinger.

I agree with this :wizard:

Don't you understand. He enables the collective intelligence of all Reapers. He is Harbinger!

No he is not. He is an AI, the AI that created the Reapers.<_<

I am really starting to like this thread. currently making a group to create an actual compendium, that hopefully won't be locked.

The only joke here is the inability of these posters to grasp the Intelligence's logic. How many species has he saved by implementing the cycle? Countless.

He is not some human child he is the Intelligence for crying out loud. He was built eons ago by those who recognized there would always be conflict between organics and synthetics. If it weren't for him humanity would have never existed. In fact, no organics would exist at all! He is the most knowledgable being in the galaxy and it's largely due to him that we're given the privelage of choosing Synthesis.

Allegedly.

You literally have to take his word for it. If you believe the head reaper about the benefits of not killing the Reapers, I have a bridge to sell...

They are terms of derision, OP. You're not going to get people to stop using them.

And, btw, the correct term is "The Catalyst," not "The Intelligence."

The Intelligence was just doing his thing and minding his own business preserving all of organic and synthetic life. Then all of a sudden all these crazy organics were trying to get up in his face and cramp his style. Then Shepard got up in his grill and forced him to change his style by using a giant ass gun pointed at him, the Crucible. Not really fair.

Well, lack of enough coffee made it hard for me to tell.  But, it is funny and I laughed, so I think it's a joke.

A lot of people try to dismiss his credibility by calling him "the kid" when he only appeared like that so he would be non-threatening to Shepard. This symbolizes that he was never interested in war, but finding a peaceful solution that works for everyone.

PLF

So, in your opinion he's what?  God.

He's in the form of a kid, yes, very likely intentionally to appear non-threatening.  And that is part of the problem.  He's a wolf in sheep's clothing.  And not just any kid, but one BW took pains to try and show us that Shepard cared about (ugh).  In meta-gaming, and refusing his choices you fully see just what he is when he says, "so be it".  He's not there to help Shepard-he is there to fix a problem that was created by his creators and their thralls-the idiots of the galaxy.

The kid was created by organics but you want him imbued with the characteristics of a god-you think we should pay homage to him because he killed trillions upon trillions of people to feed a flawed solution and that allowed for a race to exist that helped to advance humanity-one of the current races this so-called intelligence is now using reapers to destroy.  He's turning people into people goo, for crying out loud.

Your non-Intelligence is a very flawed synthetic or "AI".  He was created by flawed organics.  But somehow you think he's perfection, because he thinks he's perfection.  He also is a psychic, a prophet, and never wrong, in his opinion.  Except he is wrong.  He's continually chasing after a problem that he is ill-suited to solve.  He creates solutions that do not ever work, because of a myriad of problems with the whole situation.  He is a logic device (low on logic, though).  He has created solutions before that don't work, so he stops using them.  He says the reapers no longer work-no longer are a solution.  So, he should immediately stop using them if he is perfect.  But, he keeps using them.  Refuse, and he shows he never had any intent to stop using them.  That alone makes no sense.  Einstein said that insanity is continually doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results.  So, something that Einstein recognized, the kid does not.

If he was only trying to find peace, he would not create war.  If he was to stop chaos, he would not cause it.  If he was there to save organic life, he would not constantly destroy it.  Parse it how you want, he does the exact opposite of all he is supposedly there to achieve.  But you seem to believe that because he is a program, then he cannot contain any flaws.  I presume you own a computer and it runs some sort of OS.  Ever get a blue screen?  Anything that is created by anyone is bound to contain flaws.

He is incapable of adapting to new situations because for him the problem is a straight-line cause and effect.  People see things differently, there are many solutions to problems and people can work them out.  Computers cannot create and enforce peace.  People must do so.  And if individuality exists there will always be chaos, conflict, and so on.  And chaos and conflict are not bad things.  Only a limited intelligence would think they are.  Chaos and conflict are neutral.  People who work together that have varying ideas on how to solve problems or work through projects are in conflict, but they can come to consensus together-they can learn and grow in this way.  They can also create new ideas and excel.  If they only ever agree on everything then the mundane will be all that survives.  Chaos is like that too-randomness creates beauty.  That's good chaos.  If you view two paintings and one is all about order where everything is just aligned perfectly, that's not necessarily a good thing.  The painting that includes some randomness may actually be more beautiful.  Full symmetry does not exist in most of nature.  Look in the mirror or look at any pretty face-symmetry does not exist in people's faces.

And Synthesis-once again you are going to start another about just how beautiful and perfect it is.  Well, it's magic.  It's also obscene.  And, again all tech is flawed because someone created it, even if a synthetic created it, that synthetic was created by someone and is flawed.  Robots are used to make cars.  Cars have flaws.  Everything that exists has flaws, so sure let's all get tech inserted into us at the genetic level.  And when it breaks down-what then?  Synthesis makes no sense.  Suddenly all synthetics will fully understand organics (that no longer exist)-how that's possible is a guess or head canon.  And so what?  If synthetics will always become killer robots by design or by accident, then they still will become killer robots.  Remember, the kid is a prophet so what is inevitable will still exist inevitably.  If not, then it never was inevitable.  Again, if it is not inevitable (and can be solved in some way), then he is chasing something that is not a problem.

If I say that it's inevitable that our sun will die out, but someone can figure out a way to keep it from dying out, then it's not inevitable.  If the kid says that synthetics will inevitably rebel against organics and will destroy all organic life, but that can be prevented, then it was never inevitable.  Something that has a solution even if it's a future one or a temporary one, is not an inevitable problem.  And a fix that is not a solution would not be used as a solution.  The kid is a mess and yes, he deserves to be considered as an immature glowing boy rather than some sort of intelligence.  It's an affront to real intelligence to consider him as such.  I'm holding out some real hope that there is intelligence yet somewhere in this game that has yet to show up.

He is not a prophet. He has been around for eons and has a plethora of evidence to back up his claims. You aren't qualified to tell us the sun will die out. He is qualified to state there will always be conflict between synthetics and organics, because that was the purpose he was built for! He has one mandate, to protect organic life at any cost. He has done just that.

Synthesis isn't magic. It creates a new framework for life. Not DNA in the sense of the makeup of your bodies, but the makeup of life. How we perceive things and understand them. That's not magic, that's science. That's not obsurd, that's beautiful.
