I am NOT calling that thing "the intelligence" I would sooner call the cast of jersey shores "the intelligence"

Where you see a disaster. Me and the majority of the people who played Mass Effect 3 see the pinnacle of rpg gaming. This controversy you speak of is only caused by entitled whiners who want the finer points of a story spoonfed to them. The revolutionaries in the synthesis support thread, control support thread, and especially the triple synthesis thread will speak to that.

I respect what Ieldra has written...but now I know for certain that you need to get outside more.

He is not some human child he is the Intelligence for crying out loud. He was built eons ago by those who recognized there would always be conflict between organics and synthetics. If it weren't for him humanity would have never existed. In fact, no organics would exist at all! He is the most knowledgable being in the galaxy and it's largely due to him that we're given the privelage of choosing Synthesis.

A lot of people try to dismiss his credibility by calling him "the kid" when he only appeared like that so he would be non-threatening to Shepard. This symbolizes that he was never interested in war, but finding a peaceful solution that works for everyone.

PLF

You’re absolutely right, he is not some human child, he is a Deus Ex Machina for crying out loud. He was built a couple of years ago by those who realized there wasn’t enough time to finish the game by the deadline imposed by EA and recognized there was too much material and content to cram into one game. If it wasn’t for him, humanity would’ve experienced a more peaceful 2012. In fact, no controversy would’ve existed at all. He is the most despicable being in the galaxy conceived in the minds of Walters/Hudson, and is largely due to him Mass Effect 3 will be remembered as the biggest disaster in video gaming history.

Exactly.  They took a look at Babylon 5 and Deus ex and said "oooh oooh, order/chaos, synthetic vs. organics.  Bing bam boom.  Done."

I think ME3 will be remembered as a disaster based upon how high the expectations were for it.  Some other game might be even worse, but might never have had such hopes and possibilities riding on it, nor the hype.  If you set me up for an ice cream sundae and give me poop to eat, it's far worse than setting me up to eat slimy moldy worms and giving me poop to eat.  Still not good, but the one had promise and was anticipated.

Why exactly do people act as if declaring the Catalyst is not credible is some kind of accomplishment?

He's the antagonist of the series. He killed trillions of people. Of course he isn't credible.

. Because he is supposed to be credible

Look at this. Dozens of people in this thread gleefully declaring the Catalyst is wrong as if they're making some kind of awesomely defiant action by doing so.

What exactly do you think you're defying?

No I didn’t, but this game had the highest expectations I can remember in a video game. The highest they go the hardest the crash…if they do crash. Image IPB

Besides I was playing to the OP’s dramatic style. Image IPB

I have seen plenty of people who rant about how stupid the Catalyst is, how bad his 'logic' is, how much they hate him, blah blah blah...and then they go right on and use that very same 'logic' to defend some point or another.

I've seen people use what he says to show his logic is faulty and how he's a fauly charcter to begin with but that's about it.

Have no idea what you're talking about.  People are stating their opinions and not acting defiant.  If I say I don't like the color chartreuse, I'm not being defiant.  What people are doing is saying how stupid the kid is.  If that's defiant, so what?

I could just as easily ask what you are promoting.

He is far from the worst character in the entire franchise. I would argue he's the greatest one. When my Shepard started hovering up after the chat with Anderson, I had my doubts. However, after I had a conversation with The Intelligence, I knew that my Mass Effect journey had come to a satisfying end, and it was all worth it.

You, The God Child and Bioware need to rent a room.
And then never speak about what you did in it.

BEST MOTHER****ING POSWT EVER!
To OP

NO starbrat he is and starbrat he will stay he is the worst stupidest nonsensical pile of crap ever created in a video game, he is lucky that starbrat is the worst monicker we collectively name him.

Oh yes they are. There are plenty of things in this world that people don't like. Like...beets, for example. But nobody spends time on a cooking forum gleefully declaring how much they hate beets, do they?

No, when people act like this, it's an obvious indicator that they're trying to prove something to someone.
