Is it to much to ask for someone ANYONE at Bioware to come out and officially explain the ending to us?

Is it bad that I still see people complain about the ending but yet I, myself cannot find anything exactly wrong with it? Yeah I get people didn't care for it but yet I don't see what people were angry about or what needs explaining.

At this point, people are angry because they want to be angry. Not much anyone can do about that.

I'm angry because i was lied to by Bioware.

@Brovikk - That seems pretty fair to say, all my questions were answered with extended cut and I felt better after that.

@Ryoten - How?

Either on Bioware tv, YouTube, a gaming site, something, but all I want is for them to explain the endings to us themselves, the vision, the reasoning. Is that to much to ask? Don't change them fine I get it but come out and explain the endings to your fans and maybe just maybe we will all have a "oooooooh ok I see" moment.

The Extended Cut was the explanation. The extra Catalyst dialogue options and epilogues in The Extended Cut explain the endings.

Interview with them about the  Extended Cut:

Just because your questions were answered doesn't mean everyones were, or didn't open up NEW questions.

If the MAJORITY of people cannot find the answers in the game, then they're either not there or poorly written.

Yes....sounds like a great idea. Almost like a DVD commentary. Then we get to look at a bunch of nerd/trolls rebuttal dissertations and thesis' on the matter, one thread after the other, telling Bioware how wrong they are about their own work....

Honestly, pretty much this.

I don't like the endings either, but I also don't think Bioware could possibly say anything that would satisfy a more than a handful of people. Even if they threw their hands up and said "yup, sorry, we totally blew everything", people would just jump on that and continue being angry.

How about no? We're entitled to an answer to a series we've devoted 5 years to you know...

Uh, no we're not.

Bioware doesn't have to explain themselves.

No, we are not. As bad as it was, it´s their product and can do with it what they want. Even ruin it completely.  We are entitled not to buy the DLC or future ME games though, so do just that.

I sense a bit of hostility, more so after your last reply on this topic. So I will say this mainly because I don't feel like really diving deep into all of this.

Those who are angry about the game seem to want this golden answer to why things turned out the way they turned out to be.

So what if the golden answer ends up not being something you all want to hear? Will you all still be angry or will you all finally just go "Okay, fair enough. We're done complaining"

Honestly and I don't mean this to seem like I am lashing out at anyone in particuler, but with the way BSN seems to be, I think there will still be anger even after the golden answer is given. No matter if that golden answer came from BioWare directly or from a DLC or whatever.

sadly i feel the only thing we are entitled to is the choice to buy or not buy their next game. Currently i have no intention on purchaseing ME4, an explaination could only work in their favor form my point of veiw.

you have proof of the alternative?

That is Impossible, OP.

The endings are specifically designed to be ambiguous and speculative, so all the explanations would have to be heavily opinionated.

For example, if you could ask each of the ME3 writers to (independently from each other) answer the question: "how does Synthesis work?", I bet you'd get just as many different answers.

Yeah, like that.

I don't think there is anyone in Bioware who has THE canon interpretation of the ending. Maybe we'll see in coming DLC (very unlikely), maybe we'll see in a later Mass Effect game (I don't think so either) , most probably we'll speculate until we get tired of it.

You're meant to draw your own conclusions. No more, no less.

Could it have been done better? Possibly. Probably. Will it be changed at this point? No.

It's long past time to either come to terms with it as-is, or move on.

They have already made 2 dlcs to try and explain their vision. If that isnt enough, what is?

Everything is explained in the ending if you pay attention to what the catalyst is saying. and listen to the epilogues.

That might be the funniest thing i've ever heard.... oh wait, you're serious? Let me laugh even harder lolololol

They needed the EC in order to answer all of their poorly concieved and executed ideas for the ending which it failed at doing. All i got out of it was that it was intentionally ambiguous, which is reiculous considering that this was to be shepard's swansong.

That requires trusting a sociopathic AI that defends its existence by claiming it defends organics from creating AI, which it failed to do when the Geth were made. lol

After watching my friend who went ape**** over the ending knowing that he is no where near as invested as i am, they do need to explain their intention, because the vast majority of people i know do indeed want to know.

I'm not talking just about randoms on forums, every single person i know personally had issues with the endgame and want to know why it played out as it did.

Right, because i like feeling emotionally numb when i think of what used to be my favorite franchise.

******.

you feel emotionally numb over the way something? your life must be pretty boring if this is truly a low point for you there are better things to worry about than an ending to something

Don´t tell me you buy its BS. And the epilogues are full of unfortunate implications they didn´t seem to think about. The problem is we think beyond what we are shown on screen, and the picture falls apart.

The endings are finished. They're over. They're done. It sucks. They were poorly executed, as was the EC- 5 years 100's of hours of gameplay and we get slides with a narration. Awesome. But it's over. Move on and remember the good times. However, because the endings are left for interpretation and are open-ended, especially to a certain subject that shall not be uttered, its okay to talk, critique and analyze them from different perspective.

To bad BSN doesn't do this, well some people do, also it's a shame that the moderators don't encourage discussion about, what is clearly, the most polarizing and interesting topics on the forums. Just my 2 cents.

why didn't harbinger shoot the normaandy and why didn't the catalyst open the citadel for soverign/ open the citadel relay to dark space in me1? i've played the game 11 times and can't seem to find the answers to these questions. one of which is a problem that undermines the last mission of me3 and the other undermines the plot of me1, which makes them pretty important narrative wise.
