Talk sushi. Sashimi. All sorts of related things.

I freaking love sushi. When I was a kid I got started on your typical California Roll and over the years ate all different kinds.

My favorite experience involving sushi being when my father and I(along with one of his students) went to this restaurant at the top of a mountain and ate some Japanese cuisine in there, sushi included. Amazing stuff.

These days when I get the chance to eat sushi I usually go for California Rolls, Philadelphia Rolls, and Eel(Unagi).

I've never had it.

What does it taste like?

Is it slimy yet satisfying?

Hard to describe, honestly. Depends on the kind you get. Next time you go to a place that serves it, just take a risk and try it. Give it a chance, you might like it, you might not.

I know plenty of people who hate it, and plenty who love it to death.

Wanna know how I got these eyes? My father was… a drinker. And a fiend. And one night he goes off crazier than usual. Mommy Is making Sushi. He doesn’t like that. Not-one-bit. So – me watching – he takes the Wasabi, rubs it in her eyes, laughing while he does it! Turns to me, and he says, “why so Japanese, son?” Comes at me with the rest of the wasabi… “Why so Japanese?” He then rubs the Wasabi in my face… “Let’s put Japanese in you!” And…Why so Japanese?

I love it. There's a place near where I live that does a 'hot night roll' that includes spicy tuna sashimi chopped up and served on top of the sushi roll. Mmmmm. I like spicy tuna rolls, dynamite rolls, and I don't know if this is a common one, but sweet potato roll (it's sweet potato deep fried in tempura batter with shrimp, avocado, and cucumber. Awesome).

I love tuna shashimi as well. We have an asian market close by where we get tuna and salmon sashimi (frozen) and I often do my own sushi and sashimi.

I love sushi. Rarely have it, but I kinda like not having it too much. Every time I do have it, it's exquisite.

I've yet to try sushi I like, although I've only had the little seaweed wraps. The texture is what puts me off from that.

My brother, however, tells me that the sushi that actually has fish in it is much better than the seaweed wraps, as he doesn't like those either.

I haven't had a chance to go to a sushi place, but I'm pretty determined to try more of it until I find something I like.

If I could I'd eat sushi very VERY often, but goddamn it its expensive.

With my appetite, there's no way I could afford a full meal of it.

Lol yet you want to live in Japan.

Anyways yeah, mainly the various roll type ones, Some of the Tuna, etc. I've had the typical ones. As to Japanese food in General I dabble in cooking, tomorrow I'll be making a Japanese Omurice actully. Meh I kinda like cooking.

As to the taste. Varies. Sushi can't be limited to one taste. Depends on whats in it, the price, a number of things. Some are sweet, some are salty, its what is in it that makes the flavor. There always is a bit of salty flavor to it thanks to the wraps.

I love ba-stardized, Americanized, totally culturally inaccurate sushi.

Tekka Maki is my favorite, I have very simple taste.

Outside of that, Ebi, Sake, and Maguro Nigiri is good, and toro and unagi are simply divine, though expensive in my experience.
