They've locked out editing the coalesced.bin??? I've never played MP due to me being on satellite internet, so I know edits to that file can get you in some serious trouble in MP matches....but my SP plays I liked using the Fly Cam to grab some screen shots. But now since this patch I can't add the edits into the file any longer....it automatically deletes once I click "Save".

And this patch has overwritten Coalesced files OUTSIDE of Origin and Mass Effect folders too.....my backup (copies of coalesced) files have been rewritten now. I NEVER gave Origin or EA permission to write to files outside of their directories.

Changes to the Coalesced.bin still hold. I have modded almost every rifle that is on the .bin to my heart's content. Happy Modding!

OK...it 'seems'.....hopefully.....to be working now after a reboot of my PC. When I started my PC earlier today I noticed that I got hit with a bunch of Windows Updates, Steam, Origin, and Adobe as well. So hopefully after getting them installed and my PC restarted again, that clears everything up.....but it just would NOT work earlier. Every time I attempted to make changes to the file, nothing would happen. I even downloaded a moddified .bin file from the web and once dropped into my Origin folder, it too, mysteriously rewrote to a 'vanilla' .bin for ME3. It was just weird....so hopefully everything is good now. No more poltergeists.

*Edit* - Nope, it's not working.  I can change values that are already established withing the .bin.  (For example, I can change the amount of max fuel for the Normandy).  But as soon as I go to the section to input key bind commands under Bioinput.ini/sfxgame/sfxgamemodedefault & Bioinput.ini/sfxgame/sfxgamemodeflycam....then input and save....the line I entered into the .bin file simply deletes itself.  It's like we're not allowed to enter keybinds of our own any longer or something.  :crying:  (And yes, I do have the .bin properties set to allow writing to it)

Are you using a program to edit it (ME3Coalesced.exe)? Sometimes doing it directly from Notepad creates all sorts of tomfoolery.

ALSO: recommend moving this discussion to the Modding thread.

Yes, I am using ME3Coalesced.exe.

I'll start a topic in the Modding Forum....I just figured that since this cropped up since patching, that it was relevant to the topic.  :innocent:

The patch was 1.07 for my PS3, not 1.05.
Anyway, good to know some issues are fixed now. Thanks.

it's nice to see a glitch fixed, but this glitch is only a problem if you decide to use it... I wish they maybe developed the players and enemies together rather than beef up all the enemies and fix every little problem that gives players an advantage

And why was fixing the rocket glitch more important than fixing the vanguard glitch?

Well, they fixed the rocket glitch for multi, but seem to have broken some single player things. Ever since the patch, Traynor has stopped alerting me to new emails, and Sheppard's lip syncing is off, which makes it look like the audio is out of sync. :(

Hey guys!

I started a petition to BioWare, asking for a final patch for each of the Mass Effect games that will add a last layer of polish to the series as a whole. I'm asking for bug fixes, high-resolution textures, and private server support (for when EA will inevitably stop supporting the games).

Please consider reading over the petition, signing it, and posting a link to it wherever you can. The more publicity we can get, the more likely Casey Hudson will consider planning such a task.

Thanks very much!

So this issue definitely still occurs with 1.0.5? I was hoping that it had been stealth fixed (I haven't played the game since 1.0.3, where the issue was introduced).

I believe Eric Fagnan (one of the gameplay designers) said there are no further patches planned. So if this issue is still around, it's never going to be fixed. :(

I recently cleared the cache on my 360 and normally, I'd have to re-download all patches for all games (I've already done so for Dishonored, RE6, Dead Space 3 and others), however, I haven't been prompted to re-download any of the ME3 patches?

Is that.....normal?

Worst patch ever.
I downloaded the patch today on xbox360 because I want to buy the Citadel dlc next week.
I watched the romance scene and the dialog sound is out of sync with the lip movement, or no lip movement at all, Shepard and Kaidan now talk telepathically. (eyes glitch, lips glitch)
I deleted the patch and the bugs were gone.
@Mr.DaveCR the patch is in the storage/game files not in the cache

You guys should release a proper final patch for ME3 just like Bethesda is doing with Skyrim big v1.9 update, they keep making DLCs just like you lol, but they also keep making updates/patches for their biggest game...

I second that, some of the bugs and glitchs are unacceptable, like Ashley Williams Marksman Ability bug, and the glitched out speech Aria gives in the Omega DLC.
Every game has issues... but it feels like Bioware isnt properly testing their new content and patchs.
Thats the ONLY thing that bothers me about Mass Effect 3, the lack of support this game has been given in regards to these issues... I was just expecting a more polished experience for my money.
Main game has some problems thats for sure... but it blew my mind when I paid $15 for Omega, played it and saw Aria give that speech. I wondered how that could have even passed QA... its an insult to their own work, the character of Aria, and Carrie-Anne Moss' performance...

If your interested, this video is almost a take for take of my own reaction when I saw that cut scene... plus it makes me laugh out loud.

You guys spending 40k just to get rid of the missile glitchers? I mean, thank you and it's great, but we still have butt-lazer-equipped Praetorians, a box-of-shame, "waiting for other players" black screen, Collectors combo damage bug and many other things.

What is the box-of-shame?

Thanks for the patch, even though it was issues I didn't even know about. However, lip syncing is WAY off now in many cutscenes. I'm doing a new playthrough and I was hoping some Omega cutscenes (they were fubar'd last time I played.... missing characters, dropped music, dropped background audio) and general graphical fixes would have been incorprated.
I hope you continue to support this game, Bioware.
