Is there a way to roll back to a previous path with the Steam bought version?

The game is completely unplayable for me since I updated. The game boots then locks up my computer within seconds.

There is no way to rollback at all I don't think. What you'll most likely need to do is reinstall the game and under the properties for Dragon Age in steam, change the update settings to "do not update automatically"
