Honestly, thanks to BSN, I didn't even know the Typhoon and CSMG were AoE.

Agreed on Reegar and Krysae... horribly designed weapons that were totally broken (and in the case of the Reegar, still is).
I wouldn't remove the Acolyte, I would just double the shield/barrier multiplier and nerf the base damage by half, making it strictly a shield stripper, not something you could ever efficiently kill anything with.
What, people are using it for something else than shield stripping?
Let's introduce a gun that does 13,000 burst dps, with a 1.5x modifier versus shields! (grossly OP overkill). Then, let's balance it, by allowing ammo powers and shredder mods to completely negate any drawback the gun has, turning it into the most OP n00b gun garbage in the game!!!oneone111one!
Hey guys, we won't buff the GPR, revenant etc because that would make them overpowered! But a light-weight shotgun that deals 10k+ dps, and can melt bosses in a matter of seconds, tearing through everything even armour is totally balanced!
Sometimes, I wonder if biower's balance team have any idea what they are doing at all.
I was talking about the acolyte

This thread is full of stupid. Don't like a gun? Don't use it.
Well, I don't care if someone uses the lolreegar, better to have a minor usefull noob than one who can't kill sh-t. However, I don't like it when people are causing the screen to shake hence why troll weapons (and powers) should be removed or they should only affect the one using em.

And I'm venting about the blatant lack of balance in this game! Or when the balance team balance stuff based on statistics and spreadsheets instead of actual in-game performance.

What, you forgot how it was before they added the charge back? Everyone was using it on any kit, and while using the gun itself to kill stuff wasn't the best setup, it worked well enough, since you can still easily kill your targets with just the gun once their shields are down (even better if they are clustered).
Granted, given that insta shield stripping already enables some powers or combos to kill immediately, eh, not sure if such change would make an actual difference in practice.
Or they could make it have a lower multiplier against shields and only a high one against barriers... which makes sense for a weapon that shoots WARP balls....
Either way, I don't mind the Acolyte in and of itself, unlike the krysae and reegar, but it could use some further tweaking.

You shouldn't have been surprised, it's not like Annomander doesn't do things like bring up Krogan heavy melee on posts that have nothing to do with Krogan heavy melee.

Oh yeah, I totally remember that shietload of volus engineers trying to take Atlases down using acolytes. But thanks to the dev team, they put the charge back, and now I don't see anyone using it for anything more than shield stripping

Krogan sentinel: 105% melee bonuses +80% for rage +40% for tech armour
Asari Huntress: 90% +120% + 50%
Salarian Infiltrator: 90%, +80% + 50%
So, my krogan hits roughly 15-20% harder than an equivalently specced salarian infiltrator.
I don't know about you, but I have a serious f*cking problem with that. Balance? Ha, a laughable concept in this game.

Yeah, the charge is a good thing as it prevents people from using from something other than its intended role, but even so, I really think killing even a single unshielded mook with this thing shouldn't be as easy as it is now.

More than anything, I'd like the armor penalty on Krogan melee to be dropped.

I get that. I haven't been playing sniper characters enough recently for it to bother me, but I totally understand how that can be a bother.
I kinda like some of the screenshaknig as some characters to add to the feel of the combat, but it is too bad we can't turn it off or on.

I think that's more to do with the Typhoon having a much longer range than Reegar. You only get about 15ft range with a Reegar so you have to get in close and risk being slapped around. Plus its ammo count is quite low.
Yeah right, getting closer is such a big deal for vanguards/infiltrators/krogans

As for me, I don't think any gun should be removed (though they might as well just remove the Krysae).
I would say that the reegar could use some adjustment. A gun like that shouldn't be capable of headshots.
