You could complain without showing scores. Personally they should ban score screenshots. Score means zip.

Unagreed. It might not mean EVERYTHING, but to say it is not a useful metric AT ALL is foolish.

Stoner--
One of the most successful tactics on Giant is to group up at the landing zone. And since you are so talented, I'm sure sticking with the group would have allowed your 200K worth of points to keep the group standing. Did you try to coordinate with your mic? Do you have a mic?

No, that tactic is used when your team isn't full of bleeders or people who like to study the ground close up. The wall of the giant LZ doesn't stop banshees or praetorians and once one teleports in or floats in super fast with anti power bubble on, someone will drop due to panicking. Following that, they will bleed out which make the spawn go after 3 targets. Its like dominoes.

Also along with that comes the entire getting caught in AoEs for no reason other than someone decided to eat an AoE while staying close to you.

When the team is willing to use consumables or at the very least not bronze quality in terms of surviving, then holding the LZ is kind of easy. With bleeders or players who don't know what is standing up, what happens is that you will be forced to make a decision after getting overrun. Go in for risky reviving or abandon them. The former has a tendency to end the game while the latter makes the game stupidly longer than needed.

tldr: doesn't work. Its a lose/lose situation when the other 3 are beggers (as in begging to be carried)

I just played a game as a level 12 Krogan soldier, the results (mine at the top) =

221 912
  70 643
  69 271
  66 112

Now I am not saying these are bad scores for a gold pug game, but only one of the pugs used a single medigel and a single missle.

was it the guy in last place? haha

i get what you're saying though. I figure it to be like Call of Duty in terms of player population. 5-10 percent of highly skilled players, 15-25 of average to above average players, and the rest are the pug horror stories. I personally think if you can break at least 70k, you're ok.

If you don't like PUGs, just play with friends.
If you don't have any, join a group on the BSN.
It's tacky to complain about it (and brag about how much better you are than every random person).
There are literally HUNDREDS of threads like this...

QFT, I play gold pugs every day before joining friends, can`t remember the last time we failed against any faction.

Yeah, people on pug just CANNOT use a single medigel...
I wonder where this mentality comes from.
What's the purpose of consumables if you don't use them on the harder difficulty?

letting yourself get stomped or bleeding out more than once, esp on later waves, is unforgivable if youre playing with randoms, unless youre all on mics and the others have agreed that theres no point you reviving and they can finish wave without you, or you know that there is definitely only one or two enemies left. It really does my head in when people do it.

Exactly. IF you complete a gold match you can buy at least 2 jumbo's!

Yea I get those games. But I am the guy at the very bottom of the list. Who uses consumables, constantly saves my team mates, does the objectives, doesn't rush to the extraction zone and uses all 4 equipment slots.

True enough. Could be a great metric to see how fast you can run and nuke half the spawn budget. I always wondered which character runs the fastest.

Then you are still doing it right and I would not complain!

you need to keep in mind that beginning players margin for error is pretty small in some cases. Sometimes it takes a completely different mind set to win in pugs. You may have to think in terms of what can I do to give my teammates the opportunity for success as opposed to what should I do to maximize my own success. Here is an example from my own experience. I was playing a asari valkyrie which is super aggressive and mobile. When I play with less experienced players the team has much better success if I slow down and just control a zone of the map and protect their flank and make to jump in against any targets they cant handle. It makes me feel like I am playing in slow motion sometimes but it increases team success.

i did about 9 pugs yesterday: 5 plat, and 4 gold

1 plat bleed out wave 7
4 plat extractions

gold all to extraction

(PC)

Pugs there have been really good for the most part.

of course, I did drop out of a few lobbies with people having level 1-4 gold weapons.

Exactly how I play. I set up every kit for PUGs. Peeps think they can play PUGs like they play with friends and then whine that PUGs suck. You cant play PUGs the same as you can with friends unless you get a decent team together. This is part of the reason peeps wind up with such score variances. They play aggressive, the PUGs hang back. PUGs are more worried about extraction and getting their creds.

Yes. Sometimes my mood permits me to continue playing. Sometimes, I. Get battle fatigues and have to quit playing.

I have games like this everyday.

PUGs will be PUGs so I either just deal with them or get a private lobby going with some friends.

I had a run of four gold wipes (inb4 l2p). In the last two there were players who I later discovered (N7HQ stalking) had 600+ hours of game time. Why would someone so experienced not gel on wave 8/9 with the prize in sight? Then I check consumables and find 0 gels, it's just disrespectful to your team-mates to go into a match so poorly prepared.

People seem to think I'm complaining. There is a difference between a complaint and a rant. I was just venting some steam. Have no problem dealing with pugs, but eventually I just say **** it, and wait a day.

OP needs to be nerfed.  :P

In all seriousness, I play PUGS all the time. This is how it goes. Scores are as random as the people you play with.

Yeah, I know what it's like, I actually took pics of the scoreboard of my last 10-15 games with the intent to post them, to show my recent streak with randoms.
But it will just come across as mindless E-peen waving... so I haven't bothered.

I hope you really do give up on PUGs and spare the rest of us your haughty, sanctimonious and boring complaints.
PUGs will be PUGs, I would've thought everyone would have realised that by now. But no, we still get endless complaints about them.

Yeah, I was aware I would get hated on, but I scoff at the insignificance of their words and opinions.
