Guys, I'm just going to embrace it - No point being negative when you can be positive :)

EDIT: changed title, didnt want to sound holier than thou- im terrible at conveying tone on BSN

I made an apology thread to BW about how obsessively I posted mean spirited sounding things on BSN and the internet at large, because I got swept up in an ending controversy that was ultimately pointless given how I initially liked the endings of the games - yet for somesilly reason I started concentrating on little details and started turning into a stupid example of an internet denizen where negativity reigned supreme.

So right now I'm installing Mass Effect 3, EC going to buy Leviathan, Omega and going to tear through it, ready for the final DLC :)

I'm going to forget about stupid Mass Effect 3 complaints that only made me add to a feedback loop. And I'm going to enjoy and escape this world :)

Why sit in a hovel of negativity when we can accept and let this universe continue :)

You can google my old posts if you wish, I started deleting some of them, but you can see how negative I was, I regret that. Because guess what? it just stopped me having fun.

There are inspirational people out there - human beings that do great things with their lives like Gandhi and what was I doing? complaining about something because I let my own impressionabilty get to me. I liked ME3 when I first played it and I will like it again.

EA is an entertainment company, they aren't screwing our coral reefs, heck they aren't even importing minerals from the congo to make the damn machines we play these games on! They aren't sending drones into pakistan that kill children and create terrorist sympathisers, they aren't taking away our liberty.

Sure, EA occaisionally do deserve criticism like the whole Medal of Honor weapons controversy - but this doesn't affect BioWare or my attitude to BioWare and it's really amazing how online negativity can pull you in.

EDIT: I would like to clarify I never made personal attacks or anything as far as I'm aware, always been against that. But I am dissapointed the tone of my posts brought me down to negative space and that sucks.

People literally logged on forums to make bioware feel bad about themselves. Now devs consider forums toxic.

Damage is done.

there is faults on both sides

Decent developers apologized sincerely for the shortcomings of the game...but not the public faces of ME3, they refused any discussion

YAY!

and really, the only problem i had w/ the original endings were the uncertainty they brought, and the heart sinking feeling of "this is the end?" and "how does the galaxy come back from this" type of feelings, and since they fixed that w/ the EC, i don't really have anymore problems w/ it. Sure, there are some things i don't like, and some things i would've done differently, but overall i still consider ME3 a great game and it's still my 2012 GOTY.

also, i never jumped on that "hate bioware for everything and boycott everything they do" bandwagon.

BTW, before you buy Omega I suggest you read up on some reviews. I have a pretty detailed one in my sig but there are some other good ones on the internet. It's a hit or miss with a lot of people and I personally didn't think it was worth the $15.

Good luck on your Mass Effect run. Last time I tried with EC I got halfway through and lost all desire to play.

My anger didn't cause it. The endings did. And that made me angry. That's the cause and effect.

While I admit some of my posts get passionate, I try to avoid being directly insulting to developers. I find the endings terrible. And I find it worse that they actually thought they were a good idea (twice). If that hurts some feelings, then, to quote the Catalyst "So be it!"

I've made peace with the fact that we're stuck with this shoddy work a while ago, I have no plan to embrace said shoddy work though, sorry.

"Your ending is bad and you should feel bad"
I think that references a fairly popular meme.

In all seriousness though, I think the personal attacks were completely uncalled for.

It's been a year and I'm not only still mad, but my entire view on games have changed drastically.

I'm not even mad about the endings anymore. I'm more pissed off at the way EA and Bioware handled the entire ME3 experience, going for the easiest and most safe route.

They turned the game into some gray sludge of a game, trying to appease as many people as possible, the experience is loud and pretty but oh, so hollow. It plays like a game that wants to be an on-rails FPS and the story and dialogue is just awkward.

Even highlights like Tuchanka and parts of Rannoch didn't do anything for me on my 2nd playthrough.

The Omega DLC with it's buggy core game and glitchy animations and snooze of a story and a some very phoned in voice work just proved to me how little of a f*** Bioware gives these days.

They want to reel in the big crowd with flash and bang and the rest of us who were actually invested in the franchise just gets ignored or called whiny brats.

Again, not even talking about the ending. The intro, to me, is just as bad and the core story is just a mess.

A year later and the disappointment in ME3 is still very fresh. Ya sold out Bioware. It's a sad thing to see.

I do have another perspective:  MEHEM.  That restores the game for me.  Problem is that's a fan mod.  Bioware didn't think of it. Or if they did they never implemented it.  This shakes my faith in Bioware in general
