The striker is hitting its full firing rate after the end of the second shot while holding down the trigger.

I love the acolyte. It's a great weapon. Whether it has a charge-up mechanic or not, it's super useful on many classes. While I do slightly prefer the charging version (refire delay prevents me from sprinting away from danger and gets me killed occasionally), my main aversion to the charge-less version is a fear of an incoming nerf. Charge or not, I don't care (so much), I just want it to do massive damage to shields/barrier.

Well I, for one, am pleased.

Also, half the people in this thread who wanted the charge back are people who hate the weapon anyway and just want it to be more inconvenient to use for other people.

Not true.  The weapon was designed to have the charge.

I just tried it and it still has the charge. Am I missing something?

Sorry, but uncharged Acolyte is squarely in BioWare's firing line for nerfing. As a heavy user of caster kits that carry the Acolyte as a primary shield-stripper, this is bad news. Nothing to do with inconvience (directly), more to do with heavy Acolyte overuse especially by weapon kits meaning nerfs.

Agh, I honestly don't care whether or not this weapon has charged. I just don't want the chargeless back because that might mean that they'll nerf it into the ground again.

Freaking nerfs...

I usually don't want to stab the messenger.
But for once I REALLY want to.

I'd probably see it coming... or maybe I wouldn't. Either way I'd turn and shoot my acolyte and strip your shields in one shot without having to charge it.

=P

Allright.

Plan B.

Ziegrif, chill. You'll be able to just kill him before he can switch weapons without any ion cannons. Or just take a charge-up weapon and shoot him while running full-speed. Or, if all else fails...

Ah, so it was a patching hiccup. That's a relief.

Does it matter that much whether it takes 3 shots or 4 to strip a Banshee's barrier?  It's a utility weapon.  Unless it gets nerfed by 50% it won't amount to a hill of beans.

L2P you srubs. I'm saying this for the first time. But because your inability to learn how to use simple charge up mechanics Bioware will pretty soon nerf this gun to the ground, destroying it for all of us that could use it properly

Jeez, relax! [smilie]http://social.bioware.com/images/forum/emoticons/grin.png[/smilie]

You sound like those people who were blaming Caineghis for the acolyte charge-reversion because he put out a platinum solo video with a geth trooper using it.

I'm just fully awere what comes next. And I'm sure that in the end we all lose on this

Much better for me, its down to the fact that if i heavily use acolyte my pad needs a portable generator w/ the charge up, very annoying! and all this talk about me3 crashing ps3s is bs, your ps3/hdd is dying, mine is rammed with dlc and only probs i get is textures

Ah well, doesn't really matter, just reduces what little urge I had to play a power spam character.  Back to speccing full weapon damage and taking a Claymore/Harrier/Hurricane/Talon on everything.

Bioware has admitted Collectors causes crashes on PS3, it's not peoples' HDs.
