That defeats the point of it being a Claymore build. ;)

Also, avoid to Havoc Strike near units that can sync-kill you.

Not being able to apply stimpacks due to being stunned by enemies I couldn't see before the random teleport was what kept killing me, not sync kills.

But this is not a build enchained to a weapon, as it could be, for example, a Destroyer built around the Particle Rifle, that goes for magazine size instead of rate of fire and shield recharge delay instead of accuracy.

I know, Geth are especially annoying under that aspect: when staggered he performs the animation, but doesn't take the stimpack. Well, he's tanky, but not immortal.

That guy was just a troll, he had his fun and then when he had enough fun he "apologized" to try to keep his credibility so that he could keep trolling in the future ....

You put me in a difficult situation here. [smilie]http://social.bioware.com/images/forum/emoticons/sad.png[/smilie]
So let's say that if he's so dedicated to the art of trolling, he must be rewarded in some ways.

His views may be erroneous, but I don't think that he's trolling. Sharing an opinion that people don't agree with it is not the definition of trolling. And personally, calling someone a troll is baseless and kind of cowardly, because you don't have to make any kind of effort to disprove his remarks, you just write him off.

Like, I don't know if you know this, but saying that someone is a troll is essentially social censorship. You're not responding to his claims, you're just blacklisting them. And yes, some people are actual trolls, but they are much less frequent on gaming sites, especially sites for games that have been out for some time.

I have no opinion on the discussion of PC modding, it doesn't affect me. I just want to point out that sweeping him under the rug doesn't help either side.

There's the little detail that this thread has nothing to do with his opinion on PC cheaters, he just jumped in and tried to (well, successfully) derailed a really useful/interesting thread. This breaks tons of rules - trying to start a platform war, harrassing individuals, and being off-topic, not to mention it's completely antisocial and just plain rude. IMO, calling him a troll is being generous.  People who behave like that (and the people that support them and argue that it's reasonable *ahem*) simply make BSN a worse place.

If CmnDwnWrkn really wants to spout his hate on PC players he should post his own thread and take his well deserved ban, but he doesn't since he's a coward and instead he drive-bys completely unrelated threads.  In case you missed it, this is at least the second thread he's done this in an many days.

A Claymore

What makes the Claymore so freaking awesome, besides its brutal effectiveness and overall sexiness, is the fact that you can hide its reload with basically every single power in the game.

For some powers (Havoc Strike, Biotic Charge, grenades, shadow strike ...) it's really easy. Just use the power immediately after a shot and the weapon will reload itself during the animation.

Might have been commented on already but.. it also works with the Wraith.

You can havoc strike phantoms, banshees etc. easily enough. Just jump back as soon as you hit them, or shoot them and then jump.

True enough. The lure for me was to finally find a use for the Claymore - I'd already tried the Havoc with a couple of other shotguns.

They don't get any damage reduction while they're staggered by Havoc Strike, so you can kill them relatively easily.

So ? The main advantage the Wraith has over the Claymore is the fact that you can shoot twice without reloading. Since it's not a problem on the Havoc, there's no reason to use a Wraith ...

I was synckilled by a Banshee while entering Havoc Strike animation (looked hilarious: camera shifted, the HS hit, and then I was grabbed back to my initial position and killed). Do the invulnerability frames start with a small delay, or it's more likely a lag issue?

Oh right, *erroneously* thought the whole free reload thing was unique to the Claymore.

Well... There's that little thing called "weight" too, you know

Although yeah, not important on a havoc, definitely.

It can be done with any weapon. Those with a slow RoF are by far the easiest to do it with, though :)

Yeah I'm starting to get that now. Tried it on Silver, and it worked (I'm not used to 0 fitness builds at all), gonna try on gold tonight, seems pretty solid though.

Don't worry, it's not a "true" 0 fitness build, you've got 2k shields on demand. Remember to keep your stims stocked up and you won't have much trouble :)

The bit of trouble I was having was, I think, from the grenade users on the team with me. Made restocking a bit of a pain, burned through all my thermal clips pretty quickly. Still gonna need some practice with it.

I don't know why the Havoc soldier is getting so much attention now. With 4000 shield stimpacks I solo'd gold and plat with him and I still think the 4k stim packs made him a better tank than he is now.

Because he's finally been buffed. I refused to play him after the stim pack nerf because I didn't want to play a kit that was made weaker by a ****ing infiltrator.

And it was a great buff. Pre-nerf, he was a great tank with little firepower, now he's a good tank with reasonable DPS.

I think his damage is only marginally better but his stim packs are a lot worse.

Miranda Kerr uses a Turian Havoc with a no-fitness build and it's good enough for her...

Not really. It might look like a small buff on paper, but one shotting phantoms/ravagers or two shotting Brutes is a lot easier now, that's huge.

And he can still tank via the immunity frames he gets with both Havoc Strike and Stim Packs. Technically, he can still face three Cerberus Turrets and survive.

I have a question regarding the Claymore. May have already been asked, idk. People seem to generally suggest hip-firing it. Does that make for a tighter spread than aiming down the sights? Until now I have usually quickly aimed down the sights before each shot (like quick-scoping without a scope). I would like to know if that is counter-productive in regards to accuracy.

He could already one shot phantoms with an acolyte shot + tech detonation from havoc strike. I played him w/o cryo blast and with many weapons (Graal, Wraith+Acolyte, Claymore) though I found him optimal with a Reegar, which I know you and many other players will begrudge. I would still rather have 1600 additional shields on stimpacks than 7.5% more weapon damage and a slightly stronger Havoc Strike.

No. However, it does make it easier to use. You're not wasting time aiming down the sights and it's easier to see where the pellets will actually go, that big circle thing isn't really helping. That's especially true for classes with accuracy bonuses.

Acolyte on a Soldier ?
