Why do people hate Priority: Thessia?

Looking at the thread of worst mission in the series, a lot of people have pointed at the Thessia mission. I can understand Priority Earth, or the geth consensus, but it truly riddles me why would someone point out Thessia as the worst of them all. Wasn't it up to expectations? was it the level design? or the overall story and revelations? I'm not trying to defend it, even though I liked it, I just don't get why so much dislike for it, especially compared to other missions.

Thessia's not that bad of a mission, it's decent linear popamole action like with Priority Earth.

Pinnacle Station and Geth Consensus are far worse.

It's mostly to do with Kai Lame and his wizard powers.

Not my favourite mission, but nowhere near the worst...

But it, like Priority: Earth, I feel that it had a lot of squandered potential.

It's short, it has Kai Leng, and I think people associate their "favorite" auto-dialogue scene post-Thessia with the mission itself. I personally liked Thessia and will probably like it more next time when I take Javik; apparently he has quite a bit to say.

Yeah but compared to Earth you at least get to fight alongside your allies, even if they are only asari, and have a nice little boss battle.

It was short (no side missions), it's totally linear (I even reloaded a couple times seeing if there was anything I could do to save Talon 5) and the boss fight was simply bad.

Thessia was a fantastic mission and acts as foreshadowing of the Catalyst for those who don't own Leviathan. The fight scene with Kai Leng is epic and really sets the stage for a great finale.

Awfully designed fight with Kai Leng isn't enough?

OP: Kai Leng would probably the main reason. Also all Liara haters freak out because they have to bring her.

Btw., I still don't understand why people hate Pinnacle Station so much. It's a gameplay DLC which is certainly fun for those people who want a decent shooting challange. It's not that bad if you judge it that way. If you're like me and not interested in more shooting, you may as well skip it.

Three reasons...for me anyway...:

1. Asari princess's fatigue

2. Kai Leng

3. For heavens sake don't speak to Joker after Thessia...apparently Asari loss gives Shep a melt down....<_<

You're joking right? Thessia wasn't horrible, but it was nowhere near fantastic. The fight scene with Leng doesn't come close to the one on the Cerberus base, and that was only because I disemboweled the poor b*stard with my omniblade.

That fight was amazing, actually. There Leng is, the only thing standing in the way of stopping the Reapers once and for all. But, for all Shepard's might, he isn't good enough to stop Kai from grabbing the intel. It gives the player undeniable respect for Kai Leng and establishes him as a tremendous threat. After that fight, I was seriously doubting whether or not I could defeat him.

well i don't know how you can have side missions in the middle of all that..but thessia's saving grace is javik (unfortunely you have to pay for it)  i love it though how bioware decides to kill the asari religion in five minutes (much like it's own franchise)

 The mission itself was fine.

But the story was total garbage. It felt rushed. Kai Leng was lame and then there was Liara whining the entire time about "it's my home!" Don't get me started on the love fest for Liara that started after that mission...

The only thing i like about Thessia mission is taking Javik there and the differences it causes.

It didn't build atmosphere, and nobody cares if the Asari world gets destroyed after finding out how they've been cheating on the whole galaxy for hundreds of years.

Well, Shepard's not helpless. It was mostly the gunship that stopped Shepard.

I also love the part where Shepard taunts Kai Leng at the Cerberus headquaters.
And killing Kai Leng.

*high five* :D

Kai Leng was a twerp. He never got close with me using my Black Widow and I didn't doubt for a second that as soon as a cutscene wasn't protecting him I would tear him to shreds.

Yes pinnacle station was fun if you wanted some unlimited and mindless combat without having to reload and replay a story mission, I wish ME2 and 3 had something like that (MP doesn't count, I want to play as Shepard)

I don't like Thessia as a mission because (aside from the lack of side missions) it felt really short and you will lose to Kai Lame no matter what so i do it quickly.

IMO though is not the worst mission in the game. This place is reserved for the Geth consensus side mission where you are inside the virtual world...that was the most stupid thing i have ever seen.
