Since it's coming with free DLC, expect that they want to make money from the store. Unless they introduce some completely new side store, which would be weird, you'd be using your character and weapon unlocks from MP.

So far the only interesting aspect to this is the new Salarian kits and weapons/mods.

Considering practically nothing is known about this "Co-Op" mode thing apart from that it exists.

Also, I'm intrigued to see how they are going to be "Story" based when there are so many different characters to play as... (IF we are playing as our MP characters.)

As in, seriously, it really, really, really shouldn't be this easy to spread rumours based on no evidence.

Maybe not, but it's all very convincing. I won't lie; Reddit is a terrible source for these kinds of things, but so far it's had a very good track reckord with predicting ME3's MP expansions. Almost like a dev did it. Add in the fact that BW had more time to work on this than they did for Retaliation, and all of it seems possible.

I'm sure you're not the only one with doubts. It'd probably be best to wait and see what BW announces then getting worked up over what could be.

If it wasn't free, it'd split up the playerbase, which is a no-no. Keep in mind they also fixed the rocket glitch, possibly in preparation for the dough-making this DLC's gonna do.
