I just had a game with a friend in platinum and one of our allies had human male with acolyte.

At first I was like "we're doomed" but when in-game I realised not only this guy knows how to play singularity, but acolyte provides an amazing power against platinum enemies.

Pros of chargeless acolyte:

-Does not need to break cover
-Can instantly fire without the 1 second window which leaves him exposed to enemy fire

Pros of charging acolyte

-Can be used for run attacks
-Probably can be glitched with flamer and what not

If I missed some pros of either weapon ,please feel free to correct me.

Edit: I'm probably going to try more heavy adepts with acolyte now that it's been buffed to my standards, though I wouldn't mind some insight on how to use charing acolyte properly.

Simply put we have every intention to return it to being a charge up weapon

The reason: that is how the gun is intended to function.

It has its pros and cons like any other gun, weighing the pros and cons of it being charged vs chargeless is not a reinforcement of one being superior either.

Honest question. Was the acolyte created as a light weapon to power classes? Don't tell me all weapons were created for all classes in mind because one doesn't simple put a typhoon on a drellguard, unless they want a challenge.

Was breaking hard cover due to its charge part of the creation as well?

For the record, I'd rather stay with the charge because I don't want to see the Acolyte nerfed like the Krysae.

I can't answer that question, the designer would know but he doesnt use the boards.

i dont really belive that it the rof of this gun is so slow atm it fires at the same speed as when it was chargeable the differance is now it pops out the shot instead of taking forever to charge up the refusing to shoot in the direction your aiming,

this version is far better (your not loosing charge when stunned etc) your able to take down shields then swap to another weapon without an extra 10 second delay in order to charge then find cover/ wait for shields to regen, start charging /breakcover, take another 1/3rd off hte shields

much better this way break cover only to shoot, no more unable ot shoot because you got hit with a stun (particularly an elbow to the back)

when the charge was re-added to the gun it basically became broken and useless because it lost charge so much instead of remaining charged untill you actually pull the trigger.

and now bioware is just going to make it another place holder broken junk based ona few moaners on the forums who complain about everythign thats halfway decent being op'd

The number of users who use this gun when it is a charge up gun would indicate it is not useless

Yeah, but the gun either then needs a power up, or something considering it breaks ones cover to charge it.

Or you could make the weapon behave like the Arc pistol...

It certainly doesn't need a  powerup

The same can be said about the krysae. Can we expect the zoom function to be brought back since it was taken away because of missile glitching?

it's possible I'll be talking to Eric next week
