So this may sound a little silly, but I'm sort of hitting my head into walls here. My dream is to go into game design/programming and work for companies like Bioware. Unfortunately I'm sort of stuck at which colleges are best suited for getting my head into the game and a good concept of how everything works. I've researched several schools and gathered information from them, but I really don't know anyone in person who's attended school for a game design career that could give me some helpful insight on what I should be looking out for.

While I know it can be based off personal preference which school to go to, but so far I've come up a little short. I've looked into the Ai Art(And had a horrible time dealing with them, and just over the phone no less.) DeVry University, and the Academy of Art. I'm unsure of where else to look now, I don't have the luxuary of going to each campus and checking out the scene and how things work for each. And like I said, I don't know anyone who went for game design either, so I thought maybe I should ask a gaming forum and maybe get some opinions or helpful insight.

Most websites for the schools are marketing tickets and obviously want you to attend, but I'd like maybe some personal experience for each and what they learned if any have gone and are willing to share.

It seems (really) silly and I hope I won't get too much hate for it, but I'm grasping straws here honestly.

Thanks.

Extra Credits did a show on that exact topic.

I suggest you watch it. It tells you wat to watch for and what stuff a proper game design college should teach,
