If you don't reload cancel on a female Destroyer, can she still take down an unshielded, non-gendered Atlas in a single case of flamer, while looking fabulous doing it?

If asari were mono gendered then they'd all identify as mothers right? Do they consider themselves as two moms when they union to make children? Do they refer to non asari gene donors as fathers if those being are male? It's readily apparent that asari are mono-sexed. Gender has other influences besides physical components though.
point is that we are trying to put logic that isn't there into a video game. STAHP=]
from the wiki-
" talent."
"biotic" eh? Is that what they call pole dancing these days?

the fact that the OP comes right out and questions "why" indicates chauvinism, because the counterpoint is naturally "why wouldn't everyone accept and embrace an all-male paradigm?"
This is such a reductio ad absurdum it's mind numbingly stupid. OP isn't saying this game would be just as good all male representation, he's questioning the desire for more female representation in a game that has solid female representation. And for the record, I want female Turians as much as anyone else. They add a big part to the Mass Effect universe, and are something we have yet to experience.

I don’t think questioning BSN’s fervor over more female characters is a “white, privileged male” thing, and I think that’s a little insulting. I think a lot of people on here are just curious as to why there’s so much passion towards getting more female characters; curiosity doesn’t imply anything other than people wanting to understand a viewpoint different from theirs. It’s amazing to me how easily offended people on the internet get.

thats a wrong use of gender if its based soley on their "feminine appearance". I checked this out earlier and it's obviously just a Nerdy explanation for a planet full of hot alien blue females. And really mono gendered is for our reference. The humans. Because they don't have an alternative gender then there should be no reason to think that human paradigms influenced the formation of Asrai society.Descy_ wrote...

If I were the snarky type, I might point out that the number of posts that start off with "I'm not going to read this whole thread" kind of says something about male gamers attitudes towards this topic in general. It smacks of the "yeah honey, after the game's over" football fan mentality. It seems to me that a lot of BSNers are putting out the message that they'd rather not be bothered with this, but then they go out of their way to post on these forums to say stop whining. If you legitimately didn't care at all what kits BW puts out, then why rush to tell others to stop asking for what they want, or tell them it doesn't matter? Why have an opinion if you have no opinion?
I'll answer this, because I said something similar. I've only been able to read the last couple pages, because I'm at work, and technically shouldn't be reading through a forum all day. The thread is long enough now that reading through its entirety would take quite a while, and by the time you get to respond to whatever comment you'd like to, it might be lost. I'm not saying some people aren't taking the attitude of "shutup and agree with me," but I think it's hard to read ANY long thread from start to finish, regardless of whether it's a balance change thread or one about female characters/gender roles.
I guess since I didn't tell any one to stop asking for what I want, your post doesn't really pertain to me any way, but I figured I'd put out an answer.

Is this your first time on the internet? Not reading a discussion over two paragraphs is something 90% of the internet does. Nice job confusing correlation with causation, though.

Also, do you know how many threads about this topic there have been? This ain't new, and most of the comments in here are simply rehashes of arguments that have been made hundreds of times before.
This is some of the most well tread territory around here. People aren't reading because they have a very high chance of knowing 90 percent of what's in the thread.

What's to keep the thread's complainers from continuing to complain about the imbalance, even after such an addition?
EDIT: Don't get me wrong, I'm all for this idea... but it seems more than a tad financially impractical, as well as not nearly as important as, what Sirian has continually pointed out, the game's glaring bugs and gameplay issues.

I like the female quarian hips. So I play female quarians.
It's like if there was a "Latina" class, I'd pick the HELL out of that.
Not a pig, just a man.

No, it was just that last one line. The first ones were perfectly valid points, actually. But that last one just...
I'm laughing too hard right now, sorry.
I still don't know why people make such a huge deal out of this. "omg women won't play a videogame if they can't play as girls!" ...the hell? That's not a requirement. Just like having a perfectly equal number of male and female characters isn't a requirement either. It's just nice having the option, and I just think it's even nicer if that option includes non-human looking alien females too.

Obsession? It's not an obsession, it's simply that people notice that the male to female ratio in this game produced by such a "progressive" company is like, 4:1. That's kind of ridiculous. Add that to the fact that the female half of most of the races was entirely ignored for 3 games and I think it's reasonable to expect that people are going to be like "wtf biowerr?".
Possibly something to do with the ME3 fanbase being like, 4:1 male:female?
