What?! Women being less durable than men??? This isn't right! That's not realistic at all. That's why the Olympics aren't run as gender-specific competitions!

Oh wait.

If the destroyer can be more durable based on tech alone, why not the rest of the human race? Or anyone for that matter?

You assume your stereotype is galaxy wide in a fictional galaxy, huh?

Yeah.... the fact that men are physically stronger on average than women is "my stereotype".

Ok.

And the fact that menopause is more likely in women? Is that just my sexist brain talking too?

You go out of your way to get offended by this stuff. It's absurd, the world isn't about you or your ridiculous feminist ideas. Bioware doesn't think less of women than they do of men. Neither do I. You claiming that they or I do based on every little inconsistency in gender representation does not change that fact.

Untwist your knickers pls.

what games cant you play as a female as nowadays?
the ones where a guy is the main character?
what about
tomb raider
bayonetta
mass effect
dragon age
kingdoms of amalur
skyrim
street fighter
mortal kombat
metroid
final fantasy 13.
thats just popular games in the last 2 years.
im gonna run out of room here.

Tomb Raider, Bayonetta, Street fighter, Mortal Kombat, and recent Metriods have highly sexualised their female characters to appeal to the male audience, not as any attempt to provide a stronger female perspective.

ok, great point,  but girls love playing as sexy females too.
but again, thats a fair point.

I haven't seen people being "obsessed" with female characters yet per se... but anyway...

Men want female characters for da booty.

Some women want to play female characters to "identify", although I don't think this really matters in multiplayer as opposed to campaign/SP.

Me - I just like to see Biower put some effort in with their character skins. All asari look the same? Batguard has human voice? Lazy biower, lazy.

They really need to start designing ugly characters to more properly represent their player base.

Everyone knows all gamers are ugly.

maybe because I, like you, only look forward to 2-3 games a year as
well, i miss out on the obscure ones, the medal of honor, armies of two
etc..
but when it comes to BLOCKBUSTER, high sales projection titles and characters, id say its pretty fair nowadays.
either
way im not trying to get caught up in this debate i just dont mind
playing as females and alot of the games i play i am a female, sometimes
with or without the option, but perhaps its just a coincidence because
of the type of games i like.

^^ i made this comment prior to your last one, and yeah those were just off the top of my head, all withn a minute or so, im not gonna act like i did any research.

Based on your comments, I ask you this:
so youre sick of the cookie cutter females, and you wanna break the stereotype, with a manly style , or tanky style, ( nothing offensive just anti-caster) of female, but isnt that just a stereotype too?

what kind of females do games have to have for it to be satisfactory?

Read my reply to Cyonan. It's basically that as far as Mass Effect goes.

I'm not teribly picky in general as far as games go, but in mass effect, I want variety away from largely being frail, casters, really professional, low to no weapon synergy, etc.

I would appreciate more variety in play styles of videogames, though.

It'd make sense for Samus Aran to be in a bodysuit underneath that heavy set of armor instead of a normal shirt and pants. I don't consider that sexualized in the least and I'm a big Metroid fan with great respect towards my favorite female main character of all time.

Back to the OP's topic, I'm not surprised if it's because they're physically attracted to turians (in general).

I don't get it either, but then I find myself not caring about the gender of multiplayer characters. If a character is male, so be it. If it's female, that's nice.

I really like the new Lara Croft concept, actually. The trailer was pretty sweet too.

Because staring at a woman for hours on end is easy for the eyes. Think of Tomb Raider, do you think the game would have had so much success if it hadn't of been for Lara's porn body and huge breastist's? Cmaaan!

I like boobs. Just thought I would share that with you all.

I don't really care as to the gender of the characters, providing they are fun characters to play.

Though if biower want to make lady characters with appealing figures, I'm not complaining. I'm not going to make a point of playing a character if I don't like it; just because it has boobies.

Also, this thread won't end well.

I made a post a while ago asking for female batarians.

If they have 4 eyes, they probably have 4 boobs as well...

No you aren't. You're ugly, overweight and probably have tons of acne. All gamers fit this description. No exceptions.
